MySpace Joins Major Labels

2008-04-03 by FlawedPerfection EMERITUS | 9 Comments
MySpace closed a deal with Sony BMG Music, Universal Music, and Warner Music Group that will allow users to listen to music and watch music videos for free, but will pay to download them. The service will also sell ringtones and concert tickets. EMI did not enter the partnership. Critics see the new service as a potent competitor against iTunes, which currently dominates the (legal) digital music market.
