Saxon Summon Gods of Thunder 2026-09-02 by John Marinakis CONTRIBUTOR | 5 Comments | Saxon will release their twenty-fifth studio album, Gods of Thunder, on January 22, 2027, through Silver Lining Music.
The ten-track record follows 2024's Hell, Fire and Damnation and draws inspiration from history, fantasy, horror, ancient mythology and pagan traditions. Frontman Biff Byford produced the album, while longtime collaborator Andy Sneap handled the mixing.
Its first single is the title track, an anthemic heavy metal song rooted in Celtic mythology. Watch the accompanying video below:
Among the stories explored elsewhere on the album are the execution of Anne Boleyn, the Battle of the Alamo, Greek mythology and Cold War espionage. Brian Tatler and Doug Scarratt provide the record's twin-guitar attack alongside bassist Tim "Nibbs" Carter and drummer Nigel Glockler.

Saxon will support the release with the opening leg of their [i]Gods of Thunder[/o] world tour, beginning with eleven concerts across the United Kingdom and Ireland.
