3rd Studio For Fake Names 2026-09-04 by John Marinakis CONTRIBUTOR | 0 Comments | Fake Names will release their third studio album, Punk Ruins, on October 23 through Epitaph Records.
The announcement arrives with the album's opening track, Until It's Normal. Driven by sharp guitars and melodic punk energy, the song expresses frustration with those who embrace modern fascist propaganda.
Fake Names currently comprise vocalist Dennis Lyxzén of Refused and INVSN, guitarists Brian Baker of Minor Threat and Bad Religion and Michael Hampton of S.O.A. and Embrace, Girls Against Boys bassist Johnny Temple, and new drummer Mario Rubalcaba of Rocket From The Crypt and OFF!.
Punk Ruins was recorded at Electrical Audio in Chicago with producer Matthew Barnhart. The band completed all twelve tracks in only five days, with Lyxzén recording his vocals in a single day. Baker explained that exchanging ideas and demos remotely allowed every member to arrive at the studio thoroughly prepared.
The album follows 2023's Expendables and combines the band's roots in Washington, D.C. hardcore with 1970s British punk and guitar-driven power pop.
