Nothing earth-shattering, but this is a strong outing for these guys. Has their signature on it.

This is what I will consider the first true return of Jesse to the band, the last one was mostly written before he joined so I'm considering this their fresh start since that album didn't wow me.
| |
Have a soft spot for these, always reliable when it comes to making solid material.
| |
pretty standard killswitch
| |
I dig it. Kind of added in some southern, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster sort of riffing and vocals without losing the Killswitch sound.
| |
I like this, it may be standard but Killswitch knows how to make standard songs sound great.
| |
At first I thought ugh, more of the same... But I ended up liking it. Catchy af
| |
utter shit but then again this band has always sucked to me
| |
Pretty decent.
| |
Has classic KS written all over it--very Alive or Just Breathing. It's not going to make you a fan of them if you already disliked them but, its a good tune overall
| |
very standard for them but that still equals an entertaining melo metalcore track. the lead in the chorus is cool
| |
Band has always sounded like metal for little kids to me.
| |
The lighting and his beard makes Jesse look like Liev Schreiber as Sabertooth.
| |
Saw them perform this live in July. Cool song.
| |
good song....
pretty cool how they developed their own sound
| |
Good song, was hoping this album would show them pushing their sound or expanding it though. This is just more of the same. I'm kind of over it.
| |
God, that was awful.
| |
"pretty cool how they developed their own sound"
sound pretty generic to me
| |
they pretty much made this sound but it's still uninventive
| |
"they pretty much made this sound but it's still uninventive"
Exactly
| |
sound like they're still on autopilot.
| |
Their best days are certainly behind them.
| |
POS
| |
Song is decent, though it certainly isn't innovative or groundbreaking.
| |
Sounds like a substandard Soilwork track. Meh.
| |
Kind of disappointing
| |
More of what I wanted from their last effort but I think like most people, I've grown out of wanting another album from these guys.
| |
this song is lolbutts
| |
I dig this. New music from Killswitch isn't the most exciting thing anymore but they're definitely still solid and relevant.
| |
their sound is so dated.
| |
the best song they ever wrote was "the holy diver"
| |
^ the bait has been cast, anyone want a bite?
| |
i was enjoying it, getting slight soilwork vibes..then the chorus and breakdown happened.
this band needs to go away.
| |
meh
| |
Sounds like them for sure.
| |
So much negativity here. I dig it
| |
It's okay.
| |
From the interviews and press releases I've seen, this album is suppose to be pretty lengthy and have proggy influences, if the latter is true, I am on board.
| |
Not as bad as I thought it'd be at least, pretty decent track
| |
@ jummykidd
You need to go away. Some people like this band. God forbid you don't.
| |
Very standard single which is all I expect from most bands. I wasn't expecting Killswitch to come out with a radically new sound, maybe there is experimentation on the album but as far as singles go I dig it..
| |
this band needs to go away [2]
| |
this is horrible
| |
Great shit. I get a very As Daylight Dies vibe from it.
| |
Surprised only 2 people are getting Soilwork vibes, as they were the very first thing to come to mind as soon as I hit play. Even the guitar tone is similar.
| |
How can you claim something is horrible when you have a Disturbed, a Rise Against, and a Stick to your Guns album all 5'd?
| |
Rise Against is not even bad
| |
they aren't great either
| |
"I dig it. Kind of added in some southern, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster sort of riffing and vocals without losing the Killswitch sound"
totally agree with that comment.
This track has some strong southern metal undertones, and I also think the instrumentation is a bit more intricate and complex than your run of the mill KSE track.
| |
Very cool track!
| |
Been a fan of KSE since the beginning. I'd like to see them stretch their progressive muscles at this point in their careers. This is OK, but it's about as generic KSE as it can get.
| |
"this album is suppose to be pretty lengthy and have proggy influences"
sure, i bet theyll bust out that acoustic guitar, and do one song with all singing.
prog.
| |
"sure, i bet theyll bust out that acoustic guitar, and do one song with all singing.
prog."
lol'd at this.
| |
Wow I thought this was gonna suck hard. It actually wasn't terrible.
| |
Hopefully this will be better than their last 3 - 4 albums
| |
Dude this has been out for like a month, see for yourself....
Btw it is
| |
hmmm was wondering how did this become a very popular news thread here in sputnik only to come and see a mixed response in otherwise normal comments
| |
How is this one the most viewed news
| |
I’ve single-handedly viewed this article 69k times
| |
That answers it
| |
The sound is so dated that it triggers nostalgia for more innocent less apocalyptic times.
| |
Hopefully this will be better than their last 3 - 4 albums
| |
This is from 2015…. So spoilers but it wasn’t
