pubs and bucket hat shops worldwide prepping for an onslaught
|

Who? These guys even made it to our official tv news lol
|
| |
Good for them. I still have to listen to one of their albums.
|
| |
imagine if we became this excited about a good band
|
| |
These world class superstars are testing the waters in UK/Ireland before going overseas (yes, Europe too!) hahaha
Karma is a bitch.
-- These guys even made it to our official tv news lol
That's because outlets like Financial Times and Bloomberg did so first
-- imagine if we became this excited about a good band
Now that's an understatement.
|
| |
Fuck yes.
|
| |
Well this will all end in tears. Excited for these geezers to get cancelled as soon as they open their mouths.
|
| |
I've never really liked Oasis in all honesty. Horribly overrated in my opinion.
|
| |
gotta pay that divorce money heh
|
| |
OMG !!!! MIRACLES DO EXIST!!! YES!!! HELL HAS FROZEN OVER !!!! YES!!!! WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE !!!!
|
| |
We all knew it would happen, it’s done soley for money and it’ll be an absolute nonsense in relation to tickets but it’s what the people have hoped and wished for and that is all that actually matters.
Absolutely outstanding.

Biblical
|
| |
And which chapter of the bible would relate to this exactly?
Cain and Abel? Sodom and Gomorrah?
|
| |
Every chapter
|
| |
The bible is literally about the Gallaghers and their struggles with the adversity of both being born in the same family.
|
| |
cut to stop 2 of the tour and the venues having to place a physical barrier between noel and liam whilst they perform
|
| |
Never dug this band but always respected the Gallagher brother's dedication to hating on each other. Truly the end of an era
|
| |
two of the biggest cunts in music history
|
| |
Knowing these two the tour has many chances of not happening haha
|
| |
Two of the biggest legends in music history
Knights in shining armour.
|
| |
^^More like two of the biggest insults on music in terms of song writing, guitar playing and vocal delivery.
|
| |
Shouted melody is near impossible. Very few can pull it off. Liam can do it like no other.
|
| |
whatever
|
| |
for all the hate this band gets, they still released 2 all timers and for better or worse are one of the most instantly recognizable bands out there. Don't think there are many bands today that can claim the same
|
| |
one of the worst bands of all times no cap
|
| |
Oasis is one of the laziest bands on Earth but when they delivered they were incredible. All their albums since Morning Glory are a mixed bag of incredibly lazy mid tempo tracks mixed with top notch ballads and bigger than life bangers. My fav is Standing On The Should of Giants.
|
| |
hating on oasis in the year of our lord 2024 is telling on yourself
|
| |
Oasis would be so much cooler if they broke up after Morning Glory. The last 5 albums range from bad to mid. Please no more.
|
| |
The world could use the return of a rock band that gives zero fucks about what people think of them
|
| |
The meme band?
|
| |
We're so back, bruv.
|
| |
I hope a new Radiohead releases at the same time cause the Gallagher boys would get so pissed
|
| |
blur need to play the same day
|
| |
The crowd at these gigs are going to be fucking horrendous.
|
| |
"Shouted melody is near impossible. Very few can pull it off"
lol please, if oasis have made just one contribution to music, it's churning out a whole heap of melodies that any given pub's worth of dickheads can absolutely nail at the top of their lungs
|
| |
I’m hoping for new music but I know that Liam and Noel probably wouldn’t last more than 3 days in the studio together before wanting to kill each other.
|
| |
I mean don’t get me wrong there will be some proper wankers at these things. Coked up arseholes just looking for trouble, especially in England and it’ll be the few who will ruin it for a lot of people but on the whole it’ll be monumental.
|
| |
lmao imagine being excited for this
|
| |
"I mean don’t get me wrong there will be some proper wankers at these things. Coked up arseholes just looking for trouble, especially in England and it’ll be the few who will ruin it for a lot of people"
Are you talking about the band themselves? xD
|

oy bruv, innit mate?

"OMG !!!! MIRACLES DO EXIST!!! YES!!! HELL HAS FROZEN OVER !!!! YES!!!! WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE !!!!"
Hell froze over when The Eagles reunited in 1994 pal.

You have the fucking Goo Goo Dolls as 4.5.

Wrong part of the country, fam.

This is genuinely the most excited I’ve been about a musical event since I went to see Blur at Mile End stadium in 1995.
Fucking Goo Goo Dolls

Coming out of post retirement to say if you don’t like Oasis I’m not sure you really understand what rock music is

Completely nebulous, yet broad, self-satisfied and emphatic. Yep, that's Oasis speak.

-- I mean don’t get me wrong there will be some proper wankers at these things.
People have more important things to do with their time and money.
-- Coked up arseholes just looking for trouble
The only coked up arseholes will be on stage
-- Coming out of post retirement to say if you don’t like Oasis I’m not sure you really understand what rock music is
Thank god there is Oasis to make us understand what rock music is, as opposed to The Beatles, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Sex Pistols etc..
|
| |
‘People have more important things to do with their time and money.’
You fail to realise just how massive this band are to those in their mid forties to late 50s and the fact the music has been passed down through generations. They still have an army of millions of fans in the UK.
I’ve always said while on sput that other than Michael Jackson, musically nothing compares to the cultural enormity of Oasis in my lifetime.
Taylor Swift recently broke the record of consecutive nights played at Wembley, hundreds of thousands of tickets sold.
Oasis in comparison will be a tsunami. It will be a historical event.
Those who have never known anything other than the internet will have a glimpse of what it was like in the 20th century when actual bands (like the ones you’ve mentioned) were the biggest thing on the planet.
|
| |
^^I was replying to what you wrote about people that will go to the concerts to cause trouble, not about people with a genuine interest of seeing the band live.
Since you mentioned Michael Jackson… Apart from his inhuman dancing, his songwriters wrote excellent songs that transcended a number of genres for an artist who could support them in many ways, so there was plenty of substance that was worthy of communication.
Imho, Oasis have nothing to show for themselves other than merely being the products of copious and relentless promotion of a made up genre (britpop), in UK and abroad.
In the '90s, no one, anywhere, could hide from Oasis even if he/she wanted to. "Wonderwall" was an ear bleed of someone trying to sing on top of background music.
Along with the terribly, terribly important question of whether they or Blur were the best britpop act, that's the sole legacy of the Gallagher bros, and probably the main reason for their beef with Radiohead, because Radiohead are talented enough to be lauded and appreciated by people with completely different musical backgrounds, metalheads included.
|
| |
I agree but I will say.
They are the only band who embody some level of ‘normalcy’ by way of being genuine football fans, enjoying a pint, wearing decent clobber, taking the piss and not giving a single fuck about toeing the line when it came to PR and all the bullshit. It’s a reason why America didn’t ’get them’ the record companies just couldn’t fathom why they didn’t want to act in their own self interest of making dollars.
Although the band itself became a corporate machine they were removed from it because they were still grounded, going along for the ride but doing it their own way.
Ultimately when there are people sharing your interests who are on stage belting out communal sing-songs there is nothing more unifying or life affirming musically.
It is essentially what it is all about.
‘Is it my imagination, or have I finally found something worth living for’
Magic

Not surprised by the abundance of hate in here but man, those first two releases are excellent records. I'd absolutely be trying to score tickets if I lived in the UK because of how monumental it's going to be.

For six-thousand Earth pounds, you too (and me, for that matter) might discover "what rock music is".

Disgraceful
Fucking bots, wankers and skimmers
|

Ticketmaster has crashed.
Absolutely fucking useless.
|
| |
Aye I'm in a queue and the tickets aren't even available yet
|

Same here
|

Going to try the Gigs In Scotland site. Might bypass 90% of the Ticketmaster traffic
|

Good luck lads

It's fucked

People already trying to resell for 800 quid
Bunch of absolute fuckers
|

Unconscionable arseholes
|

I’ve got them.
Opening night in Cardiff.
I’m shaking.
|
| |
Buzzing for you Zak
|

Was the price surging?
|
| |
200 quid each.
|
| |
Any joy for you Clay? 3 hours and I'm still queueing.
|
| |
So am I.
This one’ll make you laugh. Ironically it was a yank who sorted it for me.
All the boys are on it and it’s one of their wives friends who understands what it means to us lot and has pulled off an absolute blinder.
4 tickets for the opening night confirmed. I cannot believe it.
🇺🇸
|
| |
Sensational stuff.
|
| |
Ticketmaster can get to absolute fuck
|
| |
I'm off to the football so I've given up but my mate is still queuing in the faint hopes he gets through for us haha
|

Playing or watching?
|
| |
Watching - I'm a Brentford supporter, we're as home vs Southampton today
|
| |
2-1 Brentford
|

I said 2-0 but I'll take that
|

Got mine to Dublin for just shy of 200 USD. So stoked
“Thank god there is Oasis to make us understand what rock music is, as opposed to The Beatles, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Sex Pistols etc..”
They can’t make you understand anything but it’s just a good litmus test
|
| |
Nice one!
|
| |
-- They can’t make you understand anything but it’s just a good litmus test
Well, you can always mistake lack of talent for genius, I suppose
|
| |
Glad for those tickets for all of you, curious to hear about the gigs. It will surely be a great social experience, regardless of the quality. Whether they’ll play well or not won’t matter, the crowd will oversing everything.
|
| |
Only dorks care about talent
|
| |
How long do y'all give it till it devolves into a boxing match between Noel and Liam?

Better start checking out their albums so I can get in on the hype.
Which brother should i cheer for when they end up fighting?
|
| |
Imagine thinking Oasis arent talented when they wrote some of the most god tier hooks of all time.
|
| |
"Which brother should i cheer for when they end up fighting?"
Lmao same, which one is more likable after all these years? I really liked those first two albums and the Masterplan. Ocassionally some singles after that if I happened to hear them.
|
| |
"Which brother should i cheer for when they end up fighting?"
they're both pricks, go for whoever you think would win (ie. Liam)
|
| |
"Which brother should i cheer for when they end up fighting?"
they're both arseholes, go for whoever you think would win (ie. Liam)
|
| |
I didn't even differentiate b/t them much back then. I just knew they were brothers who hated each other but were in a popular British band that got a lot of play in the United States. I'll just back the one who sung Wonderwall which is actually complicated from this quick web search on duckduckgo which is probably influenced by Google because they ruined everything too reads like rubbish: (I forgot how to use italics here, and just I am over thinking this already)
"This is the "Wonderwall." Warning: this movie is supposedly terrible. Noel Gallagher, the guitarist and primary songwriter in Oasis, wrote this song, and per custom, Liam Gallagher sang lead. Initially, Noel wanted to sing it, but he gave his brother Liam the choice, and Noel ended up singing Don't Look Back in Anger...."
|
| |
I am glad Sputnik doesn't let this filth I posted before be allowed on sputters. Even when I am trashed, I will never write anything like that and let it be a top three search result. How does google allow this garbage to be near the top of their searches. It's like when you look up a simple recipe and it's:
"This is how you break an egg: First get an egg, and then get a bowl, and then make sure.....now you know how to break an egg"
So stupid.
|
| |
Hilarious how they can't insure any of the tickets due to the chance things just fall apart at any possible moment. Would never buy a ticket to such a risky proposition.
