  • TheSonomaDude i figured about metallica. My Death journey opened my eyes man, s*** changed me. basically the only band where any ranking of their albums is correct because everything they did was top tier, but they changed their styles up too, and it's always fun to hear what someone's favorite death album is because each of their albums is pretty different.

  • TheSonomaDude i'd also say a metallica journey is inevitable because it's pretty bonkers how many different sounds that band had. megadeth is similar too. i'd also highly recommend a Death journey bc holy s***

  • TheSonomaDude tbh Priest was the band I was gonna suggest next bc their history, style shifts, and eras spanned are pretty close to that of sabbath, tho they only had two vocalists across their LPs, with the same guy for like 90% of them. but otherwise their journey is pretty similar. Maiden are awesome but they never strayed too far from their OG style like sabbath and JP did, but like sabbath, maiden's first 6-7 are all interchangeably excellent, maybe even moreso than sabbath.

  • TheSonomaDude Yeah man I remember my Sabbath journey well. Few bands have such an interesting and even strange journey through different eras, singers, and subgenre styles. Some more sabbath stuffto check after finished the studio LPs would be HnH - The Devil you Know, the The End EP, and some of Tony Iommi?s solo albums like Fused in particular. There?s also tons of other great metal bands to have the same sort of journey for!

  • TheSonomaDude when you get around to jamming Forbidden, you should check the 2024 remix. It has gotten much better reactions than the OG 1995 release, which has been called one of the worst metal albums of all time. So it would be interesting to see what someone with fresh ears thinks of the 2024 remix
