Also don't I remember that they don't like Metalcore anymore? Like they were bored of it or something, but then continue to release butt-core anyway? If you guys hate Metalcore, why is there a lame drawn out breakdown in your song in 2025 that sounds more like a Deathcore breakdown than a classic Parkway one?

One constant is how useless the bass player is for this band. Recruited way back when, had to actually learn how to play bass, and fast forward to 2025 and he's given 1.4 seconds of screen time in the new music video. It's cool that these guys are eternal buddies but their heydays are well behind them.

It's been a hard fall since KWAS and Horizons

Ire and Reverence do what they are supposed to do pretty well. It's all cheesy and watered down in comparison to the first two, but before Darker Still that formula worked just fine.

Ire kind of worked as a fun experiment, then they took that experiment double downed on it and injected it into their veins and started endlessly shitting on the floor

I don't get the praise for Atlas, it's the closest they got to making a bad album at the time. Ire and Reverence are stylistically worse, but have better execution.

Yeah when it dropped I thought Atlas was an interesting lil sidestep for them whilst still retaining many of their hallmarks. Over time I’ve definitely cooled on it

To be fair, none. Had some second thoughts, but this one remains unmatched. Makes If a God Can Bleed sound like a genuinely good track.

This band has always been super mid. First 2 records are alright if you're just getting into metalcore, but I'd rather listen to The Ghost Inside, and even then, I'd rather listen to Misery Signals.

It's not that Atlas receives resounding praise, it doesn't, it's more a case of it being the last album they made before they really started shitting the bed.

One of my coworkers was hying this up to me yesterday so I gave it a try... I wish I had not given it a try. Exhaustingly boring.

I can't imagine even the most staunch PWD fan hyping this thing up. This has to be the most cookie-cutter, lackluster single they have ever put out. The song has absolutely nothing going for it. They are not even trying anymore.

I understand subjectivity, people like what they like and that's absolutely fine, but I just find it bewildering how a seasoned listener of PWD/Metalcore could shout to the rooftops about this song particularly. I mean categorically, it's a formulaic song that pushes no boundaries and marks no evolution of their sound.

Some things simply just hit with people I guess.

As I Lay Dying is definitely in that camp regardless of Timmy Man-boobs' issues. Everything after the The Powerless Rise has been getting progressively more stale and boring.
