New Umbra Vitae Song and LP

Death metal outfit Umbra Vitae have announced their return album Light of Death, due to be released on June 7th.

Comprised of vocalist Jacob Bannon (Converge), guitarists Sean Martin (Twitching Tongues, ex-Hatebreed) and Mike McKenzie (The Red Chord), bassist Greg Weeks (The Red Chord) and drummer Jon Rice (Uncle Acid, Tsjuder), the band released their debut album Shadow of Life in 2020.

The first single "Belief Is Obsolete" can now be streamed below.

I was pondering that for a while when writing the news item. I think the style is pretty much hardcore with some death metally riffs. But they called themselves death metal when announcing the debut so I went with that.

Song is cool and Bannon seems very excited about the album so I'm interested to see where this goes

I like it when bands like this do 2-minute songs instead of like, 1:18 songs. That 45 seconds makes a huge difference.

I was thinking closer to deathcore for sure.
