2007-08-13 by Tyler EMERITUS | 36 Comments
Protest the Hero have finished work on their upcoming sophomore release, which they've confirmed is to be named "Fortress". Recorded between June and August and produced by Julius "Juice" Butty, "Fortress" is the follow-up to 2005's breakout "Kezia".

The album is tentatively set to be released on November 6th in Canada and the US simultaneously, with Underground Operations and Vagrant Records handling each country respectively.

Fortress is, as I said, tentative. I'm waiting for absolute confirmation from the band, but the release date is concrete as far as I know.
The title, if not Fortress, may also be "Belletrist".
You heard it hear first, faggots. Unless you heard it from Rody on Warped Tour. In that case, well, fuck off.

This ought to be real good. I cant imagine it being much better than Kezia, I couldnt handle rating their first two albums both 5's.

Well, technically Kezia wasn't their first album.

I used to love PTH but people over played them and that really ruined it, I will probably be the first to get this album though because i wont tell them about it. muhaha.

excitement abounds in sputnikland.

hopefully this is as good as kezia (it's gonna be hard to top)

I think it'll be better honestly. Kezia was rushed; the catchy parts were more or less to fill up space. They were really young when they started it, they got ahead of themselves and couldn't keep up. With that said I absolutely adore Kezia, but this will ultimately be far more focused and, for that reason, probably better.

but one of the things I enjoy about Kezia is that some of it feels like it's really improvisational or something. and what's this about the album being more poppy or something?

that was rody being an asshole, kezia was full of catchy hooks but i seriously doubt this will be

the improvisational thing had nothing to do with being rushed, the hooks did.

With Between The Buried and Me 'Colors' and PTH on their way, I'm overdosing on anticipation, man.

4 srs, btbam releasing a new album, pth releasing a new album, aws releasing a new album, i couldn't be more stoked.

i wonder which will be the best, as i assume all three bands will blow the past efforts away

by the by, i dont think pth should get rid of the climactic chorus parts, but i trust them to write their own music

yeah Kezia will be hard to top but the new album will probably have more intricate songs. they will start getting slower and faster and bring alot more to the table.

Nah it wasn't a possible name, I just heard wrong. I later asked the band which is why I posted "confirmed" a few posts down. We all make mistakes! You should have heard some of my lyrical interpretations from live bootlegs pre-Kezia. they were...embarrassing.

Haha, no worries. I wouldn't of even heard "belletrist," I would've heard "masochist" or "ocean mist."

Also, you should get those interpretations online...
