meh, it's alright
Have Anders himself written this news article?
Presumably it's a joke
Digging: Mouth Of The Architect - The Ties That Blind
Fuck In Flames and their new music (But I'll be back next album to post on the site about it, trashing it, even though I know what to expect, I still get disappointed every time like a retard)
Digging: Eternal Autumn - The Werewolf Diaries
I like how the implication is that they've ever made an album one could consider a masterpiece.
^me with every single pop-punk album by a band I used to love in the early 2000's
Digging: The Flaming Lips - King's Mouth
Hahaha this news article actually made me laugh out loud. Props to you good sir.
Digging: Heilung - Futha
Digging: Nathanael Larochette - Earth And Sky
its a no for me
Lol that title
Songs actually surprisingly good though, better than anything from the last two albums by far
Realistically this song is a hard 2 but if it was written by a band on rise records a decent number of Sputnik users would probably like it
@Casavir: come on now, tJR was an excellent album
The drumming is pretty tight throughout, and the riffs are enjoyable modern melodeath riffs. Nice to hear some leads on all the newer songs. The production is much better than the abomination that was Siren's Charms.
The pop choruses and lyrics shoot this thing in the foot.
Digging: Falls of Rauros - Patterns in Mythology
honestly the production is pretty much the same as their last album. It's Howard Benson again.
Lol sput ain't even putting on airs anymore, In Flames is a joke even on a news article
Digging: Disentomb - The Decaying Light
Similar Bands: R. Kelly, Macho Man Randy Savage, Justin Bieber, 3OH!3, Boy George
Another track called "Voices" leaked.
I dig them both
Digging: The Cure - Disintegration
yeah Voices was solid
I'm actually kinda looking forward to this, even if This Is Our House was terrible
At best, these are just Come Clarity C-sides, which I suppose is better than was ever expected out of them in their modern era.
just realized that I havent listened to a new album of theirs in over a decade, seems I should keep it that way.
Digging: Spitfire - Self-Help
Jesus, Howard Benson is a shit producer.
I didn't know anything about Howard Benson until 2 minutes ago but this guy's production discography is amusing:
In Flames was never good
Pretty decent track.
I haven't liked these guys since Come Clarity. Oh boy. 10/10 article title.
On the flipside, new Soilwork is good.
Loving the news title
It's nothing special, but it's a step back in the right direction.
LOOK MA RIFFS
it's better than the other singles but still sucks
Digging: Disentomb - The Decaying Light
I thought Jim Carrey was The Mask?
Digging: UNKLE - Psyence Fiction
the covers of Jester Race, Whoracle, Colony, and Clayman appear briefly in the lyric video. more of a depressing touch than a nice one, honestly.
I thought Eric Stoltz was Mask
Have they really deluded themselves into thinking this is a strong homage to past material
If not for those shitty cleans they could still be a solid band. Gotta appeal to the angsty teenagers though...
If this wasn’t an In Flames song it would sound better.
lol more like disasterpiece amirite lads
“If this wasn’t an In Flames song it would sound better. ”
Soon as the clean singing came in I wanted to lob my head off.
Oh In Flames, why... why do you insist upon this tired, torturous charade.
Post is obviously tongue-in-cheek. That being said, this is miles better than This Is Our House, so at least there's that. Great use of 40000 as well, didn't realize beforehand.
I mean it’s not great but it’s far better than I expected it to be. Their first several albums will always be their best but at least this song isn’t complete garbage.
Digging: How to Care for Flowers - How to Care for Flowers
I mean the band used to be a lot more dynamic. but this is how the band is now to expect something else is strange. Anders has said he will never repeat himself.
Even though the last fifteen or so years it's been the same shit. There were songs in this style on Soundtrack to your Escape that somehow sound superior. I'm not sure why. That was a predictable album and unpopular to many older fans. But it had passion, I thought. I still like his voice and always will but yeah if they're going more accessible, they could and have done better.
this isn't horrible, but Soilwork do the same thing better without making it feel like metalcore aimed at the pop punk mallcore crowd.
i like it
@zaru: why do i feel attacked over that "metalcore aimed at the pop punk mallcore crowd" jab LOL
Everything except the clean vocals on this is pretty great tbh.
Yeah this was good. Will go into the record with an open mind. Found I enjoyed Battles a lot more when I didn’t compare it to Colony.
Honestly the only thing that makes this song really bad is that Disney channel sounding bubblegum chorus
I think the chorus is fine for what they're trying to go for here
Meh. They've done a lot worse.
New In Flames is good sorry bois
Good ol in flames reminding me why Dark Tranquility is the king.
Actually not terrible
The more I listen, the more I like it. I like the cleans too.
This song sounds kinda like it would fit in between reroute and CC minus those awful, overproduced cleans. If Anders just went back to doing cleans like he did on clayman and reroute this would be awesome
Gave up on this band long time back, I only listen to their first 4 albums now.
blackpilled individual right there
Not as terrible as I thought it would be, considering the "material" they've been putting out for the last decade. Nothing new, very predictable and Anders' cleans are still the low point, but this one's actually ok. It does indeed sound like a forgotten Reroute B-side but with that awful new production they seem to like.
Digging: Elder (USA-MA) - The Gold & Silver Sessions
To be fair, this is the best one yet - I actually like it.
Really like this one, definitely gonna give the album a listen.
this at least seems like a step in the right direction
if it’s asop/soapf level it’s a huge win at this point
"Anders Friden showcases his vocal mastery throughout the song, incorporating a wide variety of singing techniques."
