New Periphery Song

2018-04-01 by SitarHero | 57 Comments
Progressive Metal darlings Periphery have released a new song entitled "Beta". The new song finds the band - in true progressive fashion - pushing the boundaries of the sonic template they've perfected in new, exciting and dangerous directions.

True to form, the band has remained ambiguous about whether the new song is a single from their upcoming album, tentatively titled Periphery IV, or an elaborate prank designed to trigger metalheads everywhere...or both.

Yup, they definitely seem like the group that would make an actual song for April Fools.

im torn between wanting to joke about the song name and how it relates to the band and its fans in a derogatory fashion or joking about how... special and funny sitarhero's description is

of all the words i'd use to describe any of this band's output, "interesting" or "dangerous" are probably at the bottom

This is probably the best April Fool's joke I've seen today. This or Dollar Shave Club's Ghost Pepper One-Wipe Charlie's.

ironically more original than their serious music, this covers a lot more instrumental ground than their actual music. Shoulda just slapped a "(Demo)" tag on the title and it would've been almost believable.

Don't get why some people don't like how they have the logo on every album, it makes their whole catalogue memorable and easily distinguishable, i wonder which color scheme they are going to go with for the new one, my guess is green probably

Absolutely horrendous. Like their last 3 albums. Sounds like generic 2.5/5 metalcore. Periphery are dead.

They'll never reach P1' and the better parts of P2's levels of greatness. Everything else has been garbage.

PS: Joke song or not, they're not capable of better stuff nowadays even when serious about it.
