i'm 'meh' right now
i dont know what to make of his lows now
edit: also, the guitars are something new
| |
pretty good, his vocals still sound great.
| |
vox are better than ever. other than that its kinda blah.
| |
Solo was sweet... yet another awesome album this year. Seriously best year for metal in awhile.
| |
I think I heard this when I saw them live a week or so ago.
Album will rule. And meeting them was pretty cool.
| |
I'm anticipating this album more than I have an album in a very long time. The addition of Ryan Knight was an UNBELIEVABLE pickup for this already amazing band. So far I'm really into this song and only expect more greatness from the rest of the tracks.
| |
Pretty good, would like for them not to completely ditch their melodic sound though. Still think album's gonna rule
| |
solo isnt that good
| |
solo reminds of something their previous lead guitarist would write. Everything else sounds awesome though. Vox sound better imo too.
| |
no it definately sounds new, just not good...
| |
Solos might be better on other songs in the new album, but yeah you're right wasn't that good.
| |
The solo definitely has a different style than John's solos in the past, but I think it maintains the same tone and fits in the song in the same way as John's did in the earlier albums. I think it's a pretty good one. It's not too razzle-dazzle like Ryan is definitely capable of (see: any Arsis song) but it flows nicely in the track.
And, yeah, have to agree with Relinquished. He'll definitely bust out his skills in some of the songs.
| |
EDIT: ^^ what he said, haha.
| |
what
| |
everyone on this site built up this new guitarist and, as of yet, has he delivered? no...
edit: enough nit picking... theres still hope
| |
Vocals are better now than the other releases.
| |
Dantesfire10... have you HEARD Arsis?! He's unbelievable. Don't worry. He'll deliver.
EDIT: I actually kind of like the simplicity of the solo. There are tons of bands that tech-death your ear off with insane solos, but TBDM has always had short and sweet ones that are simple and catchy. Ryan's definitely stepped it up a notch from a typical solo by John but it's still in that same vain. In a good way.
And yeah, I've always been a fan of Trevor's vocals, but I'm really digging the ones on this track.
| |
Vocals are better from the other releases tbh
highs are still the same, lows are definately something new
| |
I like
| |
very solid
| |
Brutal as balls, like all of their other releases. Good shit.
| |
Loved it. I do hope they still incorporate melodic elements on the new album though.
| |
I prefer the vox on Nocturnal but this is still good.
| |
I found that the solo, being quite lackluster, complemented the rest of the song quite nicely. I'm still pretty distraught about Ryan's departure from Arsis. Although, for any of you who are doubtful about his ability to deliver, go to YouTube and type in "Ryan Knight Overthrown." Case and point. I'll probably still listen to this just to see if Ryan does step it up in some other tracks.
| |
The vox sound a little weak compared to past releases. So many nasty sounding mid-range grunts in there. His highs and lows usually slay.
And though the solo was better than a lot of the solo work from their past guitarist, Ryan's influence doesn't really show throughout the song. It feels like he wasn't given any writing duties except for to come up with a solo
| |
Aren't you kids bored of this poop yet?
| |
Lol I don't know why I like this so much, something about them just struck a chord with me.
| |
Unhallowed is all I can bear by these guys.
| |
I guess this cup-o-tea is too hot for you lol
| |
MMMMMMMM burnt my tongue.
| |
Song was really good, but not better than anything from Nocturnal.
| |
I enjoyed it. I thought the solo was well done. I have always been a big TBDM fan but never liked his solos. I liked the guitar tone on this solo better and overall liked this new player's style a little better (I figured I would though). I like that its a decently catchy solo but not over the top (ie a huge change from TDBM's solos in the past).
Vocals sound great. Looking forward to the rest of the album.
| |
pretty good, lows sound a little odd though.
| |
pretty cool
| |
Those lows got some 'core to them now...
| |
actually better then i thought it would be
| |
if this album is half of what nocturnal was, then it will be fucking awesome.
| |
I heard one cool catchy riff in there about 27 seconds in. And then again at the end.
Other than that... Nothing too special.
| |
cool song...like the lows...
| |
Black Dahlia never seems to disappoint me. His vocals are one of my favorites of all-time.
| |
I didn't like this much, just the vocals.
| |
what the fuck did they do with the production on this
| |
glad to see they are still terrible
| |
definatly a step up from nocturnal but theyve had the same style since miasma, its really time for a change
| |
"I think I heard this when I saw them live a week or so ago."
Speaks volumes. IMO, every song by this band is almost as memorable as Genesis era JFAC.
| |
M-E-H. Sounds like every song on JFC's new album in that it had no intro and was three minutes of repetitive death metal. The low vocals now sound like crap now, too.
| |
This will be good.
| |
Not sure if I like the overall sound better than Nocturnal per se, but I definitely dig this new track.
