The first chunk of this song is great but the last minute and a half is basically pointless chugging and pinch harmonics. Not very indicative of the album as a whole, which is why I figured "Mental Hemorrhage" would have been released first (it's the track from a circulating live video that was posted here a few weeks ago).

Ok so I know absolutely no death metal. I saw this on the news feed thingy, and I've heard the name suffocation thrown around once or twice so I said why not give it a listen? And I really really like this song. Can anyone recommend some good songs to expand my death metal horizons?

Feels very chugga chugga... The technicality doesn't strike me like a lot of other bands.
There's some other iconic death metal bands like
The Faceless, Spawn of Possession in the progressive scene if you're into the techy stuff. I don't listen to most death metal so i'm sure someone else can suggest other bands.This Message Edited On 05.19.09
