Approaching one year since the release of Earshot’s fourth LP, Humaning, the band have returned with a brand-new single, titled “Love Left.” Written by Wil Martin and Blair Daly, the song showcases Earshot’s signature heavy riffs and big melodies with a more modern edge to it. “Love Left” is one of Martin’s most personal offerings to date, centring its themes around the death of Chris Cornell and the immediate effect it had on Earshot’s frontman at the time. Martin notes: “Chris Cornell’s death shook me to my absolute core.” “It wasn’t just the loss of an artist I revered; it was the terrifying realization that someone who, from the outside, seemed to have so much - talent, family, success, freedom - could still somehow be completely overwhelmed by internal pain and hopelessness. I was riddled with anxiety for weeks.” […] “I would often think to myself: if someone who has every reason to live can still be consumed by darkness, where does that leave people like me? Could any of us suddenly self-destruct without seeing it coming?” Humaning was the band’s first LP in seventeen years, with a new line-up of musicians at the helm.
