AFI's upcoming Album titled.

2009-02-26 by SatoIsNotPlace | 49 Comments
According to Absolute Punk and AFI's PR firm their new album will be titled "Crash Love"- a phrase they released
earlier this month in Valentines Day Cards sent to several Despair Faction members who received an
"Honorable Mention" through AFI's latest sing with AFI contest (Begin Transmission). This news comes with the recent
confirmation by Hunter (Bass) that they'll touring this summer.
There is no confirmed release date.

@acetasoad- From what has been said so far, it's supposed to be rather "aggressive"/"In Your Face".. take that as you will, though the reactions from the Begin Transmission winners in regards to the new tracks they heard were fantastic.

Yeah this title isn't a good sign of things to come. My hopes are still high though.

Don't judge them by their looks. They're an awesome band, The Art Of Drowning is one of my favorite albums ever.

Title sounds like they're trying to work with the emo tag lots of people give them.

I had a slight hope they would return to their punkier side this album, clearly I'm a dunce for thinking so. Not a very good album title at all.

The Art Of Drowning is one of my favorite albums ever.

Mine too. Brilliant album.

Album will be better than Decemberunderground.

They said it was going to be more rock oriented. It may not be as good as a lot of their other stuff, but it'll still be great.

And Davey cut his hair thank god.

I think my favourite thing about this title is that the majority of reviewers will try to take the title and create an incredibly forced pun for a summary

(E.g; "This generic and cliched album has completely cr(a)shed my love for the band. Get it? It should be crushed, but instead it's crashed, JUST LIKE THE ALBUM'S TITLE!!!111")This Message Edited On 02.26.09

I have to agree with the negative opinions of it, it was a very forced album, very derivative and uneventful. A couple good choruses but that was really all it had going. They may have dropped the electro-punk style of that album however that doesn't mean the way they may go about crafting an actual song is so much more interesting now. A fool with a book under his arms is still a fool.

IMO Sing the Sorrow is one of the greatest records ever, and I can only hope for them to approach the level of quality they attained on that album. I actually really like DU, but hope they don't try to make it again. I don't think it's going to be anything close to their older sound though. While this lame album title is leaving me wincing, I'm still going to pick it up the day it comes out.

I just can't believe people are surprised that AFI have come up with another wank 'arty hearty' album title.

Having said that, when the album comes out 10 years after schedule as ever I'll probably give it a listen. Still like STS.
