QOTSA New Album & Single 2026-08-25 by John Marinakis CONTRIBUTOR | 11 Comments | Queens of the Stone Age have officially announced their ninth studio album, Perfecth, which will arrive on October 30 through Matador Records.
Recorded between New Orleans and Los Angeles, the album follows 2023's In Times New Roman... and was produced by Joshua Homme and Michael Shuman. Its nine songs explore different forms of love, including the relationships that leave people broken and those that help put them back together.
The deliberately misspelled title was coined by Homme to reflect the idea that perfection does not truly exist. The album was created in a similar spirit to kintsugi, the Japanese practice of repairing broken pottery with gold and embracing its damage as part of its beauty.
The announcement is accompanied by Insignificant Other, a song Homme described as being about distance and the disorienting experience of watching someone who once represented your entire world suddenly disappear. The released recording was the second of only two takes, capturing the band playing with a deliberately loose and spontaneous approach.
A fragment of the track was previously heard during the closing credits of the band's 2025 concert film, Alive in the Catacombs. The complete version can be heard below:
