Gallows New Album Details

2009-02-20 by Julio Babilonia | 21 Comments
The next album of British Hardcore-Punk rockers Gallows, is called Gray Britain and will be released May 4 (UK)/ May 5 (Worldwide). The album has been produced by Garth "GGGarth" Richardson, and in an interview with Kerrang! magazine singer Frank Carter exclaimed:

Quote:
Britain is fucked. Grey Britain is all about what's going on socially, politically and economically in the UK and how it affects us.
He also goes on to say that the new album will feature vocals by Simon Neil, from the Scottish rock group Biffy Clyro, various members of Rolo Tomassi, and various members of Cancer Bats.

The track list of the album is the following:
Quote:
1. "The Riverbank"
2. "London is the Reason"
3. "Leeches"
4. "Black Eyes"
5. "I Dread the Night"
6. "Death Voices"
7. "The Vultures (Act I & II)"
8. "The Riverbed"
9. "The Great Forgiver"
10. "Graves"
11. "Queensberry Rules"
12. "Misery"
13. "Crucifucks"
On a side note, Frank Carter told magazine NME that the band probably won't last past 2010.

Quote:
Gallows is not my life. It's a hobby I get paid for. I'm a tattoo artist - that will always be my life and job. Being in a band is something I do for fun. I quit the band four times before we signed to a major label. Gallows won't last five years.
Even so, Carter goes on to mention that a third album is possible.
Gallows was founded in 2005 and went on to release their first album Orchestra of Wolves in 2006.

First album was pretty good. They showed a lot of potential that, if they managed to exploit, will make a really great album.

I'll give it a listen, though I thought their first was pretty average. Low expectations.

In the interest of expanding my abbreviated vocabulary, can someone tell me what Qft means?

Unless it is a typo for wtf...

Vocals from Simon Neil and Cancer bats? That will be amazing. This album will be awesome, I think it will do better than Orchestra of Wolves. As iamrockzorz said, the production on the last album was probably the biggest problem, and I would suspect that better production will be the first thing on their list for their 2nd album.

At least it wont be about girls and soppy feelings with this concept. Unless ya know they feel all soppy and whatever about Britain. Maybe songwriting will be a little more mature as well, should keep an eye out.

I found the lack of production a good thing. It made it sound more raw and threatening
