k-os' "Yes!" this March

2009-01-05 by Tyler EMERITUS | 13 Comments
Though it seems to have slipped through the radar of most, Canadian hip-hopper and innovator extra-ordinaire k-os is prepping the release of his fourth album, “Yes!”. The follow up to 2006's Atlantis: Hymns for Disco , Yes! promises to be a “return to roots” for the artist, who was loosely criticized for his slight abandoning of hip-hop on his previous album.

Initially intended for a 2008 release. Yes! has seen its fair share of struggles. But with a new label (Universal, previously EMI), the album is slated to see the light of day this coming March, and it will come with a twist.

A press release has confirmed that Yes! will be released as a double disc, with the second disc acting as a remix album featuring tracks remixed by producers who entered a contest that, along with having their remixes put on the bonus disc, comes with a lovely $1000 prize. The twist here is that these remixes were done before the album's release, as k-os released “stems” from the unmastered tracks for the competition.

"4, 3, 2, 1", the album's lead single, was released last week.

Looking forward to this. I only listened to Exit, and his collabo with The Chemical Brothers, but this should be good.
