Noel Gallagher Solo Album Plan

Oasis’ Noel Gallagher has confirmed that he plans to release a solo album.

The guitarist told Blender that he hoped the four members of Oasis would each undertake individual projects following the release of their forthcoming album Dig Out Your Soul.

“I’d like for us to do separate projects after this record,” he said. “We’d all have to agree on it, so it will probably never happen. I’ve got loads of new songs. Somewhat predictably, they’re all brilliant.”

The news follows Noel Gallagher telling NME.COM last year that he was collecting songs together for a possible solo release and arranging a series of solo acoustic gigs.

Gallagher also spoke to Blender about his spat with Glastonbury headliner Jay-Z, who he had previously suggested was wrong for Glastonbury.

“What did I think of Jay-Z doing ‘Wonderwall’?” he asked referring to the cover of the song the rapper played to open his Glastonbury Festival set this summer. “It was pretty funny. But I’m not sure one should be seen in public with a white Stratocaster.”

I'm sure this will sound nothing like Oasis!

I'm sure it will. He was their main songwriter. Don't be so silly.

I think DOPPELGANGER's comment was sarcasm. It is difficult to imagine Noel Gallagher doing anything else but Oasis-like cuts.

Noel is a total arrogant wank, BUT he is a fantastic song writer. His anti social behaviour is what makes him the rock star he is. Will look forward to this with earnest. And the new oasis record which is out soon.

I hope Liam releases a solo album, actually. That would be interesting, considering how much his songwriting has come on recently.

Oh dear...

Edit: Fixed

Somewhat predictably, they’re all predictably generic and indistinguishable from each other.”

What's wrong with him saying he thinks his songs are brilliant? Just because he has the balls to say it? You don't think Thom Yorke thinks highly of himself after writing a song like Paranoid Android, I know for a fact John and Paul knew when they'd written a good song.

I think most songwriters think their songs are brilliant...I mean why would you be writing/singing/performing the song if you didn't think it was good?

If they really do it, it'll be something like Kiss' solo albums in 1978... which means, they'll suck.

To Goodo, If he had the real credentials to back up making a comment like that, it wouldn't be quite so bothersome. Sure Oasis wrote some pretty ok songs, but Paranoid Android? Not even the same league.
