Boy) and due out in spring 2009. Watch the band’s video announcement here.
For the past decade, New Found Glory has entertained fans with fun, energetic music, releasing six classic pop-punk
albums, including three gold records New Found Glory, Sticks and Stones and Catalyst. The group’s move to Epitaph
marks the next chapter in the band’s renowned career.
“Picking a new label was a scary thing for New Found Glory,” explains Chad Gilbert. “The music industry has been
changing so much and more and more bands are being treated and presented like some Wal-Mart pop act with
guitars. We have real diehard fans and we wanted to find a home that would represent NFG the right way. A label
that knew our music scene. Epitaph is the place to be! They were all longtime, true fans of new found glory and they
understand us. We aren't just some record to put out before the new Pussycat Dolls CD! A real music label. We were
over the big business of the majors.”
“It’s my great pleasure to welcome NFG to the Epitaph family,” adds Epitaph’s owner and founder Brett Gurewitz.
“Everybody here is over the moon about working with the greatest pop-punk band in history.”
Stay tuned for upcoming announcements about New Found Glory’s new album in the coming months.

The needle on my record player has been wearing thin
This record has been playing since the day you've been with him
No more long rides home
No more of your station
I didn't like it anyway
Remember the time we wrote our names up on the wall
Remember the time we realized "Thriller" was our favorite song

Poor Article.
But it's not your fault so please stop your crying now.
|
| |
hah most "notorious" pop punk band?
|
| |
Fair play to them.
They're pretty good, for pop punk.
But I don't think there is such thing as a "notorious pop punk band"
|
| |
NFG is one of the few bands where the lead singer's voice absolutely ruins their music for me...which is saying something, as I enjoy bands like Dream Theater, Fall Out Boy and Coheed and Cambria.

But they're getting worse (ahh)

I've always enjoyed them. Even Coming Home had its good moments.

“Everybody here is over the moon about working with the greatest pop-punk band in history.”
I'm no pop-punk historian by any means, but wouldn't Blink 182 or Green Day be better choices for the title of "greatest pop-punk band in history?" The Ramones could even be tossed into the whole pop-punk thing, and certainly they'd be much more deserving of such a title. Maybe I'm painting pop-punk with far too wide of a brush...?

Pop punk is one of the most contradictory and crappy genres ever. Boo.
Not really, it's just as valid as any other hybrid (pop-rock, metalcore, dance-rock, etc)

Anyone else remember when Epitaph still had credibility?
|
| |
I sure don't.
|
| |
should have stuck with bridge 9.
|
| |
I was being serious, Thor. Epitaph used to be pretty decent.
|
| |
haha when you think about it, pop punk really is an oxymoron. i'm not ashamed, however, to say i thoroughly enjoy pop punk, and hopefully nfg will put out another enjoyable record.

Those were the days.
|
| |
A win-win situation here. Their last couple of albums haven't been anything amazing but hopefully they put out something really good again.

Anyone else remember when Epitaph still had credibility?
I was just about to say something to that degree. I guess one could just track when Bad Religion was still at the top of the game for a similar timeline.

Seeing them with ADTR and Four Year Strong in October. =]
Epitaph better not make them suck.
|
| |
For Epitaph to "make them suck", they'd have to have signed a long time ago.
|
| |
i just hope they stick with their "tip of the iceberg" sound.
|
| |
Epitaph started going downhill when The Offspring's "Smash" made the label (i.e. Mr. Brett) rich.
