Megadeth to begin recording

2008-08-31 by ninjuice | 21 Comments
Frontman Dave Mustaine has posted online that producer Andy Sneap will fly over to Southern California to "tweak some last-minute stuff" at Mustaine's recording studio. He will then return at the end of the month, apparently to lead recording sessions for a new record.

Sneap produced the band's previous album, "United Abominations", and Dave Mustaine has talked about working with him previously:

Quote:
We'd been working with Jeff Balding, who does a great job. But we knew we needed something else to give the material that extra push, so we brought in Andy. It was cool because he isn't like some big rock-star producer. He was just another Joe to me. So we were trading jokes and laughing and it was fun. My sense of humour is pretty close to a British one, so we worked well together. Also, Andy told me I was the reason that he got into playing metal in the first place, which was really flattering.

The new album will be the first with guitarist Chris Broderick (Nevermore, Jag Panzer), who replaced Glen Drover late last year.

This maybe another United Abominations (good) or it just might be another The World Needs a Hero (not good)

Awesome! I hope Mustaine gives Broderick some room to write.

Megadeth just finishing up the new album eh? Not trying to get it out in time to compete with Death Magnetic are we Mr Munstaine? Still Bitter? Metallica stole your songs? This will either be a good cd, or classical megadeth mega-miss.

The System Has Failed was great, United Abominations was too much of the same thing imo. They won't release another song in new material to top Tears In A Vial.

This may be a surprise, despite Megadeth's long feud/comparisons to Metallica, they're still the more consistent band. I grew up worshipping Metallica, but when they fell, Megadeth continued to record solid albums.

UA was pretty solid but got old fast. And Dave Mustaine is getting more annoying by the minute.

I actually thought Risk was decent. It was far from normal Megadeth, but had some pretty good songs.

i wouldnt not be surpised that megadeth makes a Awesome trash album and metallica makes a somewhat decent "wannbe metal again album". and even if that happens metallica's album would sell way more albums. but personalily i hope they both make kick ass albums, so EVERY BODY HAPPAY!
