Dolly Parton Eyes Avatar Shows 2026-08-24 by John Marinakis CONTRIBUTOR | 0 Comments | Dolly Parton has revealed that she is exploring the possibility of performing through a digital avatar.
The 80-year-old country icon and her team are currently working with several companies specializing in avatar-based performances. Parton did not reveal what form the proposed production might take, emphasizing that discussions remain in the "early stages of development."
The project is among several new ways Parton is considering delivering musical experiences to her audience while continuing to deal with health problems that have affected her ability to travel and perform in person.
Parton cancelled her planned Las Vegas residency in May after initially postponing the shows because she could not complete the required rehearsals. She has also spoken about the physical and emotional effect of losing her husband, Carl Dean, following 58 years of marriage.
Despite the recent setbacks, Parton has reassured fans that she remains active and continues to work. No schedule or projected launch date for the avatar performances has been announced.
