wtf that was awesome
|
| |
I will say that the production on the new tracks I've heard has really irked me. Seems really dumbed down and too clean. Song was alright.
|
| |
Considering I don't really like half the tracks I've heard so far from the new cd, this was actually good, though the first 30 seconds or so could be better.
|
| |
this is definitely better but its still a little off for myself for some reason idk
|
| |
goodness me :O
thats was rather enjoyable.
definitley getting the album now, even if its for the 3 songs i have heard.
|
| |
this is bloody awful
|
| |
lol album rating
|
| |
i wouldn't even go so far to say this is at least better then st. anger
the riffs, the lyrics, the lead parts, urgh. I hope this isn't the studio mix.
|
| |
my friend downloaded this album for me. hes crazy and gets stuff hella early. i can safely say that the tracks they've shown aren't even the best ones.
|
| |
that was terrible
|
| |
Merkaba, as far as i know this hasn't leaked yet.. am i wrong and where should i be looking. i don't care if i get a warning for discussing this.

what else were you expecting from rick rubin? that's his style to a tee.
|
| |
WTF as far as i know the album hasn't leaked....or has it??
|
| |
Jeez, sounds like something I could have written.
|
| |
^^ Hahaha
|
| |
"Am I the only one who thinks Hetfield sounds like Dexter from the Offspring now?"
I seriously thought that too! especially 'in the day that never comes' Im into Offspring and Metallica so im really not complaining.

there are links on google blogsearch but they may well be fake

I can't believe people are saying this sucks, I guarantee if this song was played by another band, people would think this was great.
|
| |
That is the most half-arsed attempt at a blast beat I have EVER heard. And they try a breakdown for the chorus. LOL.
I'm sorry, but this song just sounds silly. It's like 'ooh, I can play metal'...but without actually knowing what makes metal metal. Seriously, it's pretty mediocre.
And if another band played it..well, if it was a band I knew I'd be ashamed to show my face in public, if it wasnt I probably would never try the band again.

na na this album is gonna be quite good. i can feel it.

I'm listening to it with no bias at all, I assure you.
|
| |
this album is going to be one where I will just fast forward to the solos
|
| |
oh god... the snare is pretty much still a tin can
and the guitar sound is horribly mixed, i hope they get that sorted
then i will be able to listen to it.. at least he is using thrash "shouts" on this album
|
| |
It reminds me of the rough edge to the guitar on Kill' Em All, just more polished off production elsewhere and with crappier songwriting.
Sounds like an attempt to capture the sound of old.
|
| |
The thrashing seemed a little too forced. If this same song was written with Master of Puppets - meaning less polished and more harsh on the vocals and guitar - I think it would have been a lot better. I wasn't too pleased.
|
| |
I dont give a **** what you all say, I thinks it f'in rocks!
|
| |
My roommate has that badge
|
| |
I think it's pretty good. It seems that some people are going to hate it just because it's Metallica. I'm not trying to say everyone should love it, but I don't think the dislike/hate would be quite as intense if this was a new band or even just a different band.
|
| |
fuck lars ulrich. he needs to fucking die already. one of the shittiest drummers of all time. worse than that jonas brother who drums
|
| |
None of the jonas brothers drum, you idiot. I thought the song was tight. Certainly has that energy to it like older Metallica material.
|
| |
It's nice to at least hear some chugging from these guys; at least they're trying. Still, listening to this makes me realize that the music they worked so hard to influence has passed them by. There's about 50982135 metal bands with better chops/songwriting than these guys now.
|
| |
sounds like Slayer...
|

sounds like Slayer...
|

Song was kind of cool, kind of awful. James is now a full-fledged parody of himself and Lars seems to think he's in on a joke when he actually is one.
|
| |
song was pretty meh with touches of eh
|
| |
they should have kicked out lars
|
| |
hmmm, I actually thought this was pretty good, although out of the stuff I've heard released recently, I'd say this is the weakest. Agreed on the Lars comments :D
|
| |
I don't see why everyone hates on Lars. He's mediocre in the metal scene I suppose, but not terrible.
|
| |
True, just think his drumming's not really great on this stuff. Really enjoyed it on Justice though, I'd say that was his best album. This Message Edited On 08.26.08

oooo warooth seems to love his copy of megadeth's "risk..."
suicide, ive already died....
lets not forget these are grown men...
my 9 year old brother destroys rockband with more dignity than this.
its amazing how lars has been playing for... 20+ years? and NO PROGRESS
in the 11 years i have been playing the drums i have come A LONG WAY
btw, they should learn to work their myspace instead of having a WMP track... its 2008. welcome to the club.
blah
meh
imo...
|
| |
1:52 to 1:57 was pretty cool but the rest of the 4:57 was god awful...they need to just give it up.
|
| |
Instrumentation was good, well guitar and bass wise. Drums were bland. Vocals and lyrics didn't impress me.
I liked the effect on the guitar just before the solo starts.
Hmmm, I'm still looking forward to the album.
|
| |
It's ok, the day that never comes was better but it's not terrible. Guitars are really cool at times.
|
| |
I strongly doubt this is the finalized version. Just from the way it sounds, it doesn't even sound mastered yet.
|
| |
i thought it was pretty good
|
| |
It was pretty good. Didnt convince me to get the album though.
|
| |
can't complain, i thought song was pretty dec
|

this.
|
| |
...alright?
|
| |
wtf was that
|
| |
Meh
|
| |
i thought this song was badass.or it could have been that fact that they played a "thrash song" in 15 years. but loved it. i get what you all r saying but metallica is going to get harsh vocals and be like master of puppets again..this album there going to try to please the old School matellica fans and the lil pussys. the three songs i liked. like they said b4 this album is going to be the missing link between the ...and justice for all album and the "black album".This Message Edited On 08.26.08

Promising. Sweet solo.
|
| |
That was very bad and a riff or two sounded like they were lifted from an Aerosmith record hahahaha.
|
| |
None of the jonas brothers drum, you idiot. damn man im not up to speed on my jonas brothers knowledge. whatever, the point still stands Lars needs to die or just go away.
|
| |
It's an ok song. I'm hoping there are some better songs on Death Magnetic though. Lar's obsession with using only the snare on drum fills is starting to irk me.
|
| |
"That was very bad and a riff or two sounded like they were lifted from an Aerosmith record hahahaha."
This is the stupidest comment I've read so far. Okay laughtard, which riff and which Aerosmith record?
|
| |
out of the three songs i've heard on their new record, not one has a cool thrash riff. that being said, even though they've strayed way off from being thrash, it's definitely better than any three songs off st. anger
|
| |
This is the stupidest comment I've read so far. Okay laughtard, which riff and which Aerosmith record?
Hahahaha I can't think of the Aerosmith song but the riff at between 4 and 6 seconds and repeats itself throughout just made me think of them. I thought it was quite amusing but I see that you took it in a whole other direction.
|
| |
not bad
|
| |
it was awesome, chorus kinda blows though.
|
| |
I like it
|
| |
ok song...drums are too crappy both in quality and playing...too bland.
|
| |
Whoever said Lars can play is an idiot. I can play a blast beat better than that and I'm a 16 year old lazy shit who plays the drums maybe once every 3 months.
|
| |
hmmm, last I checked Lars could play, as is evidence on the record, just not particularly well...
and there are no blast beats in this song, or in fact, any Metallica song.
I still think the song is pretty cool, I wish the intro was better though...
|
| |
song sucks. the other one was alright but this is pretty bland.
|
| |
godDAMMIT do i HATE lars ulrich. this album could be so much more potent if he knew how to fucking play. 30 years ought to teach you something about the fucking instrument.
|
| |
I think that everyone secretly loves Lars, but is too ashamed to admit it...
|
| |
sounds like a plain old metal song to me, dear god lars is fucking horrible
|
| |
I actually enjoyed the hell out of this song. It's not nearly as good as their old stuff but it wasn't bad. The main issue I have is the production. It doesn't have the massive feel that good Metallica should have. It's just the generic stripped down Rick Rubin feel which doesn't work for Metallica because Metallica's supposed to sound epic.
|
| |
What do you call the first beat in the song? The bass then snare then bass then snare in quick succession? I was always under the impression that that was called a blast beat.
