Still working on the wording in this article but I felt like it had to be posted. I can't believe they're letting this asshole out, even if it's just for a bit.

Yes this is such a good idea.
I mean seriously what kind of damage can a raving lunatic do just going for a stroll around the neighborhood?

Fan-tastic! :smash:

From everything we know about Varg, walking priveleges would probably give him enough freedom to orchestrate another church burning.

I can't say im happy, even though i don't think he will do anything.
|

Maybe he'll kill the rest of Mayhem.
He doesn't have much of a reason to.
On the other hand if you had to ask Varg for his 3 favorite hobbies, he'd probably list model trains, music, and arson.
|
| |
This article is a crock. First of all, Varg is innocent. Second of all, VARG IS INNOCENT. He doesn't know how that knife got in Euronymous' head, and even if he did he wouldn't tell some liberal pussy piss-ant like you. Saying Varg is innocent is the equivalent of saying Soulja Boy writes meaningful, well planned music.

Sarcasm not your thing eh?
I'll say this is a good idea, maybe he'll kill Dragonforce for making the same fucking album 4 album's straight.

Something tells me Varg could not give a fuck about Dragonforce.

All I want is for him to write good black metal again... that's it... no more of this ambient bull shit.

Varg is worth the lulz at least.

How come? Did you like his black metal albums or are you afraid it might be shite?

varg so crazy

"In 2003 Varg was granted temporary leave, but after he failed to report back to the prison he was found in a stolen station-waggon packed with: an unloaded AG3 automatic rifle, a handgun, numerous large knives, a gas mask, camouflage clothing, a laptop, a compass, a Global Positioning System, various maps and a fake passport"

As far as I know he's never claimed to be innocent. Here's to hoping he escapes and makes some more good black metal under a different name, haha. Here's to hoping some more churches get burned in the process. All jokes aside, I really don't think he is "dangerous" like you people seem to think. You sound like pussy conservatives. OH NOES, HE WEARS BLACK CLOTHES AND PLAYS BLACK METAL! HES DANGEROUS! I don't think he gives a fuck about churches anymore. Grow up people.
|
| |
I'm pretty sure them pussy conservatives are judging his character based on the fact that he's a murderer and mass arsonist.
And by the way, a conservative would probably beat a liberal down in a fight any day.
|
| |
From what I've read he doesn't seem to care about killing Euronymous at all. I don't think he's a danger to the public but I don't think he'd have a problem with killing again either if he had a motive.
Of course, this is all based on short interviews so I'm probably totally wrong...
|
| |
Wonder if he will go around burning prisons now...
|
| |
lulz he's gonna convert dragonforce into church burning satanists
BLACKENFORCE
|
| |
I don't think he's dangerous because I'm a conservative (I'm not, by the way). I think he's dangerous because he's a convicted murderer and an arsonist. I think he's dangerous because 5 years ago he was caught in a stolen vehicle full of WEAPONS. The man is absolutely unstable. He's is a danger; not only to himself, but to everyone around him.
Eakflanderyof, it's plain to see your mancrush for Varg blinds you from reality. This guy is a flat out scumbag.

He killed a guy and he likes to set buildings on fire as a political statement. I don't care how long he's been in prison, I still don't trust him with anything more dangerous than that Hitler mustache he was sporting a couple years ago.
Jesus, the defense of Varg is just like those retards who were sad when the vocalist from Dissection hanged himself. They ignored the fact that the crazy SOB killed a man in cold blood for being gay.
What part of "killed a man" is so fucking difficult for metalheads to understand?
I'm not sure how else you could interpret a "not guilty" plea...
Would you want to go to prison for a crime you wanted to get away with?
|
| |
I dont think that being a "metalhead" has anything to do with this. That's just as stupid as criticizing his motives in the first place. Who cares, he killed a guy and he lost his "freedom"
Then came this news article...
|
| |
That's just as stupid as criticizing his motives in the first place.
That's just as stupid as taking everything I say at face value. Allow me to be more clear in my discrimination against types of people:

Yeah, a "not guilty" plea is simply trying to get away with it. He's never really claimed to be innocent since then. And I really don't think he cares about church burning anymore. I think anyone who believes he does is delusional. Prison makes people change and grow a lot (even a Norwegian prison).
Jesus, the defense of Varg is just like those retards who were sad when the vocalist from Dissection hanged himself. They ignored the fact that the crazy SOB killed a man in cold blood for being gay.
I've never felt sad for the guy from Dissection. Killing someone for being gay is just pathetic. But the whole Varg story is fishy. Nobody really knows what went on and those who probably do say nothing for some reason. I'm not defending Varg or saying that he had a good reason (as he says in interviews), but it's possible that Euronymous wasn't completely innocent. It's dumb to assume Euronymous was innocent just because Varg got the upperhand.
What part of "killed a man" is so fucking difficult for metalheads to understand?
I'm sorry, but having killed someone in the past does not make you dangerous. I've known people who have killed in the past personally and they were normal people who seem as though they wouldn't hurt a fly. And I don't like to consider myself a metalhead BTW. I'm open to listening to anything and think the term is idiotic.
And by the way, a conservative would probably beat a liberal down in a fight any day.
That's cool because I'm not a liberal or a conservative. I hate both equally.
Eakflanderyof, it's plain to see your mancrush for Varg blinds you from reality. This guy is a flat out scumbag.
I used to be a Varg fanboy about a year ago, but I really don't care much now. I always judge things fairly, though. My opinions may be different from the mass media and the general public, but that's the way I feel.

idk man, having him out on the streets will only probably wreck what little credibility black metal has left with the public.
What credibility does it have? Hardly anyone has even heard of it. The people who have generally hate it without even listening to it or hate it for being SATAN MUSIC. There's nothing to lose.
I don't think he's dangerous because I'm a conservative (I'm not, by the way). I think he's dangerous because he's a convicted murderer and an arsonist. Oh yeah, and if he was so dangerous don't you think he would have used those weapons when the police stopped him.
|
| |
It's dumb to assume Euronymous was innocent just because Varg got the upperhand.
Euronymous was an idiot, but until I become emperor of the universe, stupidity is not a capital offense.
I've known people who have killed in the past personally
The military doesn't count. We're talking about killing in cold blood.
Oh yeah, and if he was so dangerous don't you think he would have used those weapons when the police stopped him.
There's two possibilities here. One of them involves the fact that the guns weren't loaded.
The other one involves the fact that Varg changes his story for why he does anything whenever the hell he feels like it, so no one's really sure why he does anything anymore. It's that unpredictability that inspires such unease toward him.
|
| |
(to Eak)
lol! Wow, you're reaching.
btw
Statements such as "I always judge things fairly" tend to destroy one's credibility. Nobody ALWAYS judges things fairly; some would claim that most people NEVER judge things fairly. This Message Edited On 07.07.08

"Nobody ALWAYS judges things fairly; some would claim that most people NEVER judge things fairly."
Isnt that just another thing that depends on what your opinion is? Whats fair to one might not be fair in someone elses opinion.
"I've known people who have killed in the past personally and they were normal people who seem as though they wouldn't hurt a fly."
Thats what i think is so spooky about some murderers. They are totally "normal" and then they just seem to snap. This Message Edited On 07.07.08

Wow, now that's an assumption. I know someone who has actually killed and not been caught by the police. And I've personally known two others.
Statements such as "I always judge things fairly" tend to destroy one's credibility. Nobody ALWAYS judges things fairly; some would claim that most people NEVER judge things fairly.
Well, what I should've said was that I try harder than others to do so. I don't automatically consider people dangerous because of their past and I also don't become a pawn of the media on issues. The media frames things and people fall for the shit.
There's two possibilities here. One of them involves the fact that the guns weren't loaded.
That's possible and if it's true that the guns weren't loaded then he probably wasn't out to hurt anyone anyway.
The other one involves the fact that Varg changes his story for why he does anything whenever the hell he feels like it, so no one's really sure why he does anything anymore. It's that unpredictability that inspires such unease toward him.
I don't read his internet articles endlessly like some people, but has he ever even commented on the escape situation. I don't believe he has. Either way, I take ALL of his articles with a grain of salt.
|
| |
"That's possible and if it's true that the guns weren't loaded then he probably wasn't out to hurt anyone anyway."
I believe its still a crime to have all those guns in norway.
|

Wow, now that's an assumption. I know someone who has actually killed and not been caught by the police. And I've personally known two others.

Whatever you say, Che Guevara.
That's possible and if it's true that the guns weren't loaded then he probably wasn't out to hurt anyone anyway.
I don't know if the concept of guns is new to you or what, but there are these things called ammo clips... Yeah, guns can be reloaded.
I don't read his internet articles endlessly like some people, but has he ever even commented on the escape situation. I don't believe he has. Either way, I take ALL of his articles with a grain of salt.
That's the thing. We can never tell how much truth or falsehood is in any of his statements as he's liable to change the story whenever. If he's not a compulsive liar, then he's a good chance he's just making stories up when its convenient to keep people guessing.
|
| |
Well, the Burzum Albums that were recorded outside of Prison were absolutely amazing, so if Varg does go back into black metal (highly unlikely) we could have some decent norwegian metal once again.
As far as his sanity is, I don't know, Euronymous and Varg were both out to kill each other so you could say that if he didn't do anything about it he'd be dead, and the Church Burnings were no more than publicity and political stages really, I mean he got "Dunkelheit" video on MTV2 just for being in trouble with the law.
|
| |
Good for Varg, good to see him chill.
|
| |
Oh yeah, and if he was so dangerous don't you think he would have used those weapons when the police stopped him.
if one had any brains at all, they'd know that using the weapons would only make his situation worse. he has some common sense, you know

I've known people who have killed in the past personally and they were normal people who seem as though they wouldn't hurt a fly. This doesn't actually mean anything. I'd rather the people look crazy so i can watch out fo them, if they look innocent they can pretty much come out of no where and kill you when you least expect it which actually makes them MORE dangerous.
|
| |
Varg still claims self-defense, and contests that he had nothing to do with the arsons of the time.
Until anyone can actually prove otherwise, his stories are entirely plausible. The Norweigian government and prosecutors didn't prove anything...they paraded a bunch of witnesses who didn't like him anyway through the courtrooms and shuffled him through the system, using the murder trial as an excuse to pin a few arsons on him.
Vikernes wasn't the only scapegoat the government called out, and he wasn't the last. Sure, his ideologies can be extreme sometimes, but I have seen nothing proven about any of these things he supposedly did.

The more posts by Eakflanderyof I read, the more I am convinced he's a joke account.

glad to see varg free and how the hell did he get all that gear the first time he escaped.?? he's like the new Solid Snake for satan's sake.
|
| |
Then whatever town you live in, I don't want to be there.
He doesn't live in my "town." And either way, if you're that afraid of random killers then you might as well go live in a cave. Don't forget your stealth camouflage so those killers won't find your pathetic, shivering body and shank you in the asshole when you're asleep.
I'll give the full story:
The reason he hasn't been caught is because he is an illegal immigrant who jumped the border after he killed the guy. He says that he got into a fight in a bar with the guy and stabbed with a broken bottle out of self-defense (they always claim self-defense huh). I worked with the guy. I'm not friends with him. I just know him. He's like 50 years old and it happened like 25 years ago. I've only heard the stories from others who worked with us. He never told me personally.
|
| |
Of course... the government framed him! It's so logical now that I've stopped thinking about it.
You're a blind moron if you honestly believe that the media and the government never look for scapegoats for issues like this. This kinda shit happens a lot. Are you really that oblivious?
|
| |
The more posts by Eakflanderyof I read, the more I am convinced he's a joke account.
Who are you? Oh yeah, Mr. Cool Staff Reviewer.
|
| |
I've only heard the stories from others who worked with us.
Meaning there's absolutely no possibility of embellishment or the notion that they're just fucking with you, right?
Assuming the story is true, slight difference between manslaughter in self-defense and murder in the 1st degree.
I understand that's a complicated argument, but most of us take the time at some point in our lives to distinguish these important nuances. To the laity, this is called not being a dumbass, or sometimes simply education.
If there is a convicted murderer and arsonist with radical racist beliefs living in my city, I sure as hell don't want the little bastard wandering around with any regularity.
|
| |
you guys still arguing about this?
|
| |
Is it really so hard to believe that a government which very quickly banned distribution of a certain band's music would look for a scapegoat in a major issue concerning supposed Satanic cults and major arsons?
Please, I did a thesis in college on Varg Vikernes, and in all my research of interviews, news articles, court accounts, etc. did I find a shred of tangible evidence against him other than the word of people who already didn't like him to begin with.
So the dude has radical ideals? Not everyone who has radical ideals goes and kills people and burns down shit for fun. Besides, the man is a little more intelligent than people give him credit for.
|
| |
do you think Chief Wiggum will be able to catch him this time around?
|
| |
Seems like a nice man
|
| |
Besides, the man is a little more intelligent than people give him credit for.
You can be intelligent and still be bat-shit insane. Ted Bundy was a graduate of law school. He also murdered a bunch of women, escaped from police custody, and went on a killing spree during his flight from the authorities.
|
| |
Wait, issues like what?
Are you serious? Pretty much every controversial issue throughout the history of mankind where the public wants someone to pay for crimes that have been committed against them. It's called wrath, which is what the fine justice system we have is based on.
You can be intelligent and still be bat-shit insane. Ted Bundy was a graduate of law school. He also murdered a bunch of women, escaped from police custody, and went on a killing spree during his flight from the authorities.
Yeah, but pretty much everyone here calls him a moron. While the Ted Bundy situation may be true, does that automatically make every intelligent person guilty of accused crimes.
|
| |
While the Ted Bundy situation may be true, does that automatically make every intelligent person guilty of accused crimes.
Are you trying to be stupid?

Now, most of you are being as ignorant as you claim Varg to be. Varg, yes, killed a man. For self-defense. He just got a bit... carried away with a knife.
God that sounded awful. :D
My point being, Varg has stressed many times that he has just given up actively pursuing his goals, he just wants to live on. Given the fact that he has sat in jail for 15 years by now, I am pretty sure he doesn't have the energy or will to burn churches, for frack's sake.
And Ted Bundy was educated, not intelligent.
|
| |
as long as he takes this as an opportunity to burn more churches and make great black metal I'm totally fine with it
|
| |
Varg has better watch out while he's wandering around. A Mayhem fan is bound to try and kill him one of these days. Haha.
