Cult of Luna have uploaded a new track to their MySpace from their upcoming album 'Eternal Kingdom' which is set to be released June 16th (EU) and July 8th (US).

New track is entitled, funnily enough, 'Eternal Kingdom'.

Enjoy.

...or I could just listen to more Isis and have the hole in my heart filled to overflowing.

I was actually thinking earlier today what sets Isis apart from bands like this.

Three things: an organic musical structure mixed with a passion that only comes with playing exactly what you've always wanted to play.

Melody

and a badass bassist who keeps things flowing. this gives the guitarists freedom to take their time and become wizards.

...these guys are pretty freakin heavy when they want to be.
but to me the groove behind it is still lacking.

With all due respect to Isis, I think Rosetta and Pelican are the masters of this craft.

Pelican is cool... I think their drummer could be a bit more interesting.
but their acoustic stuff is badass.

I still need to hear Rosetta.

don't get me wrong, i'm a huge fan of Isis - especially Oceanic and Panopticon....you should start with The Galilean Satellites if you're new to Rosetta man.

^ I second that.

"Itinerant" is one of the most incredible songs I've ever heard; it's been almost three years since I first listened to it and it still hasn't gotten old.

Weird cause I find them at the bottom of the list for me in this genre. Track is awesome and band is super underrated.

I like COL better than Isis actually. Both are amazing bands but I think the sheer heaviness of COL makes them more interesting.

So basically for me it's
1. Cult Of Luna
2. Split between Isis, Callisto and The Ocean.

Never heard Rosetta, but Pelican is pretty good as well. This Message Edited On 05.11.08

CoL is good, but im pretty sure "The Red Sea" destroys anything "heavy" theyve done. and with the clean stuff, its up in the air, but isis are more acid friendly, so i think they win in both departments.

CoL amazing. I vary between who I prefer between Isis, CoL and Pelican from month to month. I am really looking forward to hearing the new CoL album - Somewhere Along the Highway was pretty special.

The Ocean don't fall into this category. Why would you even compare them?

CoL and Isis are pretty close for me.
The styles differ a bit which make them both excellent.
