Awesome.

hopefully the vocals are stepped up because they've always been kinda awful. i've always borderline enjoyed these guys so im just waiting for them to put something out that makes me fully like them for more than five minutes.
|
| |
ive always liked the vocals, but it would be cool to see Erak's vocals to step up a bit.
|
| |
This shit sounds really awesome. I hope they don't ruin it with "Dark Trail" vocals. >_>
|
| |
So there is going to be less/no screaming?
I honestly hope he can actually sing now, because I find it quite terrible.

123 to Coke and ToWhatEnd. If this turns out to be anything like they're saying it should rule.

Looking forward to thi... got my attention

TFOT use to be my favourite band sometime before Manipulator, so I'm hoping for a great return.
But if Matt Bayles couldn't do it then I don't think we should get our hopes up.
The problem with Thom is that he think he has all this range capabilities when in fact he's a below average vocalist.
|
| |
love these guys. hope they don't totally ditch the screaming, but it could use some work.
|
| |
He already mentioned that they were not turning their backs on that aspect of the band at all. Reading is fun! Looking forwards to this.
|
| |
this will either be great or it will blow.
|
| |
As I do enjoy these guys very much the vocals on manipulator were just ANNOYING at times. I did not enjoy the new direction with that album with the vocals at all. The singing is quite boring as well.
Also these guys are really arrogant in person. During recent live shows they really do a good job of snubbing the crowd and the lead guitarist basically acts like he's Jimi Hendrix. Really off turning.
|
| |
i disagree on them being arrogant (except for their old bassist). Erak was one of the nicest guys i have ever met. the guy was cool enough to hang outside his van and invite people to come talk and chill with them while He Is Legend was on stage. he even went out of his way to find a silver marker so he can sign my shirt

I dont think his vocals have to really step up. I think thats just something you like or don't.
When they do covers though Thomas can really sing.
|
| |
What covers have they done?

I've met the guys before and they are really nice if you dont act like there famous or anything. Thomas also has said a number of times he doesn't think of his guitar work as anything special and thinks he is better at the drums...
Anyway, i've also always liked his voice, but can understand how it could be disliked.
@Atavan - I believe they have covered some Smashing Pumkins and Brand New at their live shows...and they often cover Nirvana songs to lead into their own songs.
Also http://www.podcastfearless.com/nmb/index.php?id=360 is a podcast of them on fearless radio the other day.

Whatever happened to "Phantom on the Horizon"? I heard it was going to be a new cocept album with the tracks from the Ghostship EP.
|

Whatever happens, I'm pretty sure this will be worthy of a listen.
