Like many on here, I wasn't excited for this about a week ago, but when the clips came out I started to get into it a bit. Hopefully this is Weezer's "return".

^EC I can believe it. This is very exciting. Cuomo even stated that he thinks it's the best music they've done together. Very bold statement.

Didn't he say that about Make Believe as well?

Doesn't every band say that when they bring out a new record?

nope. if sonic youth were to say that every time people wouldn't respect them as individuals anymore... (mainly bc comparing most of anything to sister is just silly)

Rivers saying its the best weezer ever doesnt excite me, in fact quite the opposite. He thinks Pinkerton is weezer's worst I believe. Still, Pork and Beans has really perked my interest.

I'm definitely excited about this, it'll probably suck though.

I'm making the bold claim that this will NOT be better than Pinkerton. You heard it here first.

yes they believe Sonic Nurse is

Too bad Daydream Nation owns everything they've ever done.

Will this top Pinkerton? Hells nah. Will it probably be better than Green, Maladroit, and Make Believe? Yep.

sister is their best album. seriously.
and i'd love to see the quote about them thinking sonic nurse is better than
daydream and sister bc that just makes thurston craazay.

tired of sex is such a classic imo. don't know much other tracks i prefer over that
one.
note: sonic nurse is great album tho. very mature syThis Message Edited On 04.20.08

Pinkerton is classic front-to-back IMO. One of the best rock records ever made in my humble opinion, although Blue Album is just as good in most respects. Pinkerton has a much better "album" flow to it and stronger songwriting overall though.

The intro and outro "noise" for Pork 'n Beans makes me think they might be focusing on flow and transition a bit more on this album, which could be kinda cool. Either way, I was raised on Weezer, so I'm definitely gonna get this at some point.
