I hated this.

It's 2.5-3/5 material. A couple good tracks but most of it is rather zzzz I've heard this before and Anders' vocals ruin the whole album as per usual.

It's pretty good.

First two tracks are really bad, I have no idea what they were trying to do on Disconnected, the chorus annoyed the hell out of me.

Bah, three tracks though it so far. The Mirror's Truth was pretty good, not so much the other two....

I'm interested to here the 8+ minute track.

This so far is pretty good, the vocals do ruin it a little when he whines a little. The guitars are sick tho, glad they improved that.

I've already heard it. It's fine, but gets really repetitive, a lot like the new Soilwork. I really like Alias though.

Heard the first 4 songs. I still stand by the my belief that The Jester Race is their best album and they'll never top it. First 3 tracks are good, Alias is great, but I hope the album is better than what I've heard so far.

This is shaping up to be either 3.5 or 4 for me.

i love his vocals because they sound so frantic and hopeless.

This is better than Come Clarity, which isn't saying much as I hated that, but it reminds me a lot of Sonic Syndicate, whom I don't like, so this remains to be pretty poor imo.
Shame too, I had a bit of a good feeling before hearing it, the samples I'd heard sounded pretty decent.

I'm deeper into the album now, and it got overall better than the first couple of tracks. I still don't know what to make of this. Its good but there is something that is keeping me from really enjoying it like I though I would.

In regards to a Come Clarity (i gave it a 4) comparison, I think Come Clarity is better but I'm not sure and I still have some songs left to listen of this one. Right now it would be like a 3.8

I think its better than Come Clarity. Its more melodic and guitar driven.

The first half of the album sucked for the most part. Thank god it picks up at "Move
Through Me" and doesn't get bad from there.

The first half is a 2-2.5 imo, and the second is a 3.5-4. I'm looking at 3-3.5 for

You are right in saying this is more guitar driven, and that is why I'm annoyed. I'm a guitar person, I love bands that have a lot of talent and creativity with their guitars, and I love when In Flames is melodic. Basically, I'm suppose to be in love with this album, but I'm not and I don't know what it is about it.

I also think Come Clarity is more melodic than this. Yeah, this will most probably be a 3.5. It has some amazing songs though, I'll probably download those songs and that will be it. I'll listen to The Jester Race next time.

Ya, its a different sound, give it a few more weeks, maybe it will grow on you. I agree even though im really starting to dig this, its still a little odd.

I plan to listen to this again tomorrow and see how it goes. It's not bad at all, but I feel kind of disappointed about it.

Besides Anders whiny singing, the music is top notch. I really enjoy how the band reinvents themselves with every album.

I couldn't get in to Colony, no matter how hard I tried. I just couldn't stand the vocals.

Wholcle through Clayman he was at his best. The melodies on Colony are just amazing.

On a sidenote, I don't want to wait a week till i get a hard copy of this, fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck

This album is like, metal for autistic 5 year olds.

1.5/5 only because there are some decent melodies here and there. That 8 min track is about as laughable as Shaq's attempts at rapping.

This is probably the best thing they've put out in the last 6 years or so (Clayman was 2000, no?), but it's still no more than a 2.5. It's just really average, and doesn't have staying power.

Ill give this a listen. If its better than Come Clarity then I should really like this, CC was a fine album.

It's definatly better than Come Clarity. Guitars are improved, more experimental stuff, Anders vocals are not that bad but it's not Whoracle. I love the fact that acoustic guitar is more present and guitar solos.

Alias is my favorite yet. The Chosen Pessimist is kinda great but some of his vocals are bad. The ending of the song gives me goosebump anyway.

I liked Come Clarity, but I don't like this. Don't think this was better either, Come Clarity had several stand outs.

All of Ander's singing sounds like Jon Davis to me. I've always liked his scream but he's not the frontman that I used to like (because of his singing). Just my opinion anyways. The musicianship is really good on this album at least.

his vocals are not the best but not the worse. At least he can do it live. Alexi Laiho is not able to scream anymore live. His vocals are really bad and all of that because of smoking.

oh god, Alexi's voice is so shot that Anders sounds like Dan Swano screaming compared to Alexi.

It's not bad or anything, but they set the bar very high with their earlier stuff. They keep having to reinvent themselves because a lot of lame metal bands copying them. I'd be pissed off if i we're them. Still buying the album though...

Listened to this 2 more times, and it grew on me. I'd say a 3.5 now. I honestly prefer
Blooddrunk to this though, but that's most likely cuz i'm a CoB fanboy.
