Common sense tends to go out the window on your "legal" day, though. It's just as much your friends' job to keep you under control as it is your own, I'd say. And you really don't have to turn every comment into some unintentional advertisement for how incredibly gay you are.

Ok, on my 21st I went out and got shit-faced drunk but I mean c'mon... you really would have to be a bit idiotic to virtually drink yourself to death. It's not that I have no sympathy for his family and for this band, I'm just saying the guy was being an absolute idiot and made terrible choices which ultimately lead to his untimely death.

This really sucks. I liked this bands first release, it's really too bad. We should make a counter so we can keep track of how many its been. It's a shame.

It's sad he died, but if it was for something like overdosing on alcohol, then it was a pretty stupid way to die.
On a side note, Australia's legal drinking age is 18. I find it hard to fathom how crap it would be to wait until I'm 21 before I can legally go out and drink.

....I got shitfaced on my 19th birthday (legal age in Ontario to drink) and managed to still exist. Sorry for being blunt, but I don't think anyone here can drive this point home enough:
When you drink a lot, you are responsible for yourself. Yes, his friends should probably have limited him at some point. But they didn't. I hate how this is supposed to be tragic because he was in a band that a few people know about. If I felt bad every time someone died (of their own volition, no less) I'd be miserable now... and now... and now.. and now.. Sucks he died. But it's not like he died fighting cancer, or fighting in Iraq. He died on a floor, because he drank too much.
If it turns out he died from some random ass cause that's not alcohol poisoning, I'll be very surprised. And if and when that happens, you can all rip into me as much as you please.

I drank 40 shots and two kegs on my 21st birthday. You just have to let out a good belch every 10 or so drinks and you'll be fine.

^ Actually, I have never done that and I'm 18. Sure, I've been slightly drunk before, but I know when the hell to stop. I don't let it get out of control. I've never even puked from being drunk because I know my limits. I have no sympathy for someone who drinks so much past their limit.
It may not be the cause of death so I will not condemn him yet, but I am pretty damn sure it was.

Same with eakflanderyof, 18, never gotten smashed. No respect for deaths like this. Notice how the article doesn't mention any obvious signs of death, like a gunshot or stab wound. No, he died sleeping, and there are not many ways to do that at the age of 21
