i don't know, if i were them i would get their songs into the series.

I was wondering when this would happen...
|

uuuuuggggggghhhhhhh
I'm so tired of this kind of bullshit constantly.
|
| |
bullshit.
fuck them.
Stupid chili peppers.
They are the epitome of the saying " you used to be cool..."
They don't give a crap about their "identity" they just want the cash from a damages claim.
bleeding sellouts.
|

I think they have the right. I mean, it IS copyrighted.
|
| |
Maybe the people of Showtime had no knowledge of the song/album and made up the word completely on their own.
|
| |
^^then that would be really unlucky.
|
| |
the term Californication has been around a lot longer than their shitty album.
|
| |
Which they, in turn, stole from Mike Patton.
|
| |
Mr. Bungle should sue them. Fucking hypocrites.
|
| |
balls to them if they didn't invent the word
|
| |
Oh crap, they didn't make up the word. Then ass move by the Chili Peppers. It's like Paris Hilton sueing a show called "That's Hot."
|
| |
as if RHCP needs more money.
|
| |
next up: anthony sueing me for singing in the shower
|
| |
Ahh well. It's funny to read about these things.
|
| |
i wonder how much did it cost to give up their tiny shadow of self respect that they were still dragging around.

this is just ridiculous. Where would this stop. Would they sue a band who named themselves after one of their songs. They stole their name form Chili Willie and the Red Hot Peppers. Hypocrites.

Im embarrassed that they used to be my favourite bandThis Message Edited On 11.20.07

So, what, no one can use this word now? Whats the difference between this and Donald Trump copyrighting "You're Fired".
|
| |
I think they have the right. I mean, it IS copyrighted.
No, it's not. Song and albums titles cannot be copyrighted.
The only chance the RHCP have is if they claim damage under the Unfair Competition Law. At that point, they have to prove that the phrase is only synonymous with them in the mind of the public, which is really up to a judge or jury to decide. But it's still not copyright infringement, and I believe they therefore cannot collect damages. If they win based on the Unfair Competition Law, they can simply block them from using the name.
