i say this as someone who loves andromeda, impulse, augment, and moments of clarity EP. the fallloff when JT joined has been constant and completely alienating for me. the band needs lows like garrison and more technical shit from alan.

JT doesn't sound bad here, just not very tasteful. I agree he's gotten stale since Cure but saying this band needs lows is just a preference, and they're still pretty technical on the guitars, they just don't feel the need to overextend themselves every second of every song. That usually just happens eventually with bands that start off heavily technical like this band did
