Green Day To Start Work

2006-05-19 by nag*with*a*gun | 16 Comments
Green Day announced on a post on the band's website that they have ended their vacation (which has been taking place since early 2006) and start new projects.

"We have started to get together and work on a bunch of cool projects. It's a very creative time for us and we look forward to working on them for next year or so.", states the post.

A spokesman from the band's record label, Reprise Records, has stated that Green Day were begining to write new material. It is not clear if these "cool projects" include a follow-up to American Idiot.News Edited On 05.19.06

In my opinion, they should stay on vacation. Permanently.

They need to acknowledge that they really are The Network. It's obvious.

why did they go political? when dookie and insomniac came out, would you ever suspect that would be a road they would go on? I, for one, would never have seen it coming.

They're just in denial about the network

There's a lot less whiny crap in this thread than I expected. For those of you who were able to bite your tongues and keep from making immature comments about how you dislike the band, go by yourself a cookie.

For those of you bitching about Green Day and thinking your jokes are clever: no, dude. Just no.

Anyway, I'll wait and see what they do before I pass any judgment, though I would like to see another Network album. As for the reason why they still keep up the charade: probably because it's fun.

well its about time, if they expect some fans to put up with them reselling the same album 2 years running then they really underestimate their fans, granted that they may have added a dvd but thats not going to compensate for the songs that could have been made, so instead of doing that, they went on vacation *rolls eyes*. i would also like to say that i think that green day should play a bit more like their older albums.

i think i agree with everyone about hoping for better material. they're too whiny and boring now.
