New Spectral Lore Track

2023-12-14 by Space Jester | 13 Comments
One-man black metal project Spectral Lore has debuted the opening track from IV, the much-anticipated next entry in his numbered series of albums following the highly-acclaimed III from 2014. Sole member Ayloss has stated that there is no release date for the album but it will come out at some point in 2024, and will be a double album featuring over 120 minutes of music.

You can read his comments on the track over at Decibel magazine and listen to "Our Castles Have Fallen (Raging Winter)" below.

Is it me or the medieval/folk black metal elements from Mystras, have permanently infiltrated Spectral Lore?

Even the song title says so.

sweet. III was pretty pivotal in my listening habits back '14 as a cipher for the beauty of contemporary black coming off the waning post boom

Yea one of my favorite black metal releases of all time, and the remaster of II is just about as good. I can’t imagine he’ll do me wrong with the new one
