Tony Bennett dies aged 96 2023-07-21 by Fernando Alves | 23 Comments | Iconic American pop and jazz singer Tony Bennett died this Friday aged 96. A statement posted on Bennett's Twitter account goes as follows:
"Tony left us today but he was still singing the other day at his piano and his last song was Because of You, his first #1 hit.
Tony, because of you we have your songs in our heart forever."
Tony Bennett has sold more than 50 million records worldwide and won 19 Grammy awards, including a lifetime achievement award in 2001. He was known for songs such as 'The Way You Look Tonight', 'I Left My Heart in San Francisco' and 'Body and Soul'.
