Yeah lyrics are very basic but man this track goes super hard and the lead guitar work is phenomenal, so it's easy for me to look past the shortcomings in the lyrical department.

It's actually not per se given the metal and "harsh music" communities propensity to not batting an eye to fascists (looking at black metal), rapists (looking at pretty much everything), white supremacists (looking at Pantera fans) but people flipping their shit when bands dare to speak on things like the rise of neo-fascism, queerphobic attacks, rampant sexism etc. And music forums like this also tend to attract edgy dipshits who think discrimination is a funny topic.

Also, an aside: Most metal / hardcore / scrmz lyrics are pretty badly written and cringe asf. Nobody gives a fuck when it's about other topics, tho.

Painting entire sub genres of music with such broad brush when it’s a very small minority of people who actually are problematic is in and of itself reductive and damaging to the process of protecting people who are the most vulnerable in these scenes. Agreed about edgy dipshits on forums but like, cmon dog, do better. It’s the equivalent of crying wolf, makes some of these edgy dipshits not take the shit seriously when it’s actually a problem.

The only problem with the lyrics of this band(which they seem to be reigning in) is the way they get their message across. The lyrics can feel preachy and heavy handed. Their message is fucking great and Im all for it just try and be less brick hammer with it. Its my only issue with the band and id say most peoples main gripe

Now if you think you have to go out of your way to avoid rape apologists or Nazis in the metal scene? Then its probably the scene in your country or the circles of the bands you follow.

Sure the lyrics on this song arent great but they integrate well into a piece of art. The lyrics on Eternal Spirit are pretty awesome.
