these guys still exist? damn
| |
1. Great username @Clefairy
2. FiR is shockingly bigger than ever lol
| |
3. Listened to this and it is terrible. Ronnie needs to cut it with this soft, piano-based "reimagined" stuff. Its not good and doesnt suit him at all.
4. This news post had one good thing come out of it, I am now nostalgically jamming Dying is your Latest Fashion
| |
Nobody asked for this. Nobody needed this.
| |
It worked once with his vampire song and now he won’t fucking stop with the “epic piano ballads.
| |
soty
| |
eww
| |
this is my 13th reason
| |
A soft version of Last Resort by Pa Pa Cockroach? I will say I don't think it's as bad as Pound Town by Sexyy Red & Tay Keith, but's only slightly. Which really isn't saying much.
| |
music is saved
| |
shamus’ local supermarket boutta run out of lotion and tissues
| |
that sure checks out
| |
shit band gets covered by an even shittier band
| |
Way to ruin a good classic rock song Ronnie
| |
Imagine being able to make a papa roach song worse
| |
I’m having heart palpitations. This is a song so near and dear to my heart, and to hear Ronnie’s version is absolutely breathtaking.
| |
“It worked once with his vampire song and now he won’t fucking stop with the “epic piano ballads.”
Disturbed’s sound of silence cover is the worst offender. Mostly because I know a few people that think that it’s the second coming of Christ but it’s just fucking dogshit
| |
673 million spotify streams, for some reason it's a huge rural hit.
| |
I ain't going to listen this guy destroy one of my favorite songs from my early teen years. This guys a joke and anyone who likes him is the punchline.
| |
“673 million spotify streams, for some reason it's a huge rural hit.”
more streams than down with the sickness. Fucking insane
I mean that song sucks too but it’s just blows my mind that that terrible cover is more popular.
| |
"Disturbed’s sound of silence cover is the worst offender. Mostly because I know a few people that think that it’s the second coming of Christ but it’s just fucking dogshit"
Tbh that's the only thing I've properly liked from them in years.
| |
I just can’t stand Disturbed man. Even when I was younger and into all the nu metal bands I hated them
| |
I mean they're hardly the cream of the crop.
| |
the only thing i know about disturbed is OH AH AHAAA
| |
you don’t need to know more
| |
Stricken is good and very little else
| |
on that topic it's funny that half of the sickness is top nu metal and the rest is the dog shittiest of dogshit.
| |
the last song I liked from Disturbed was The Vengeful One.
| |
The Churko drums ruined that one.
| |
Nobody asked for this. Nobody needed this. [2]
this is terrible
| |
man’s verging on blackface with the necktat lmao
| |
“Thank You Ronnie and Falling In Reverse! This song is a daily reality and my goosebumps were crying. I was crying, the emotions it evoked were emotions i never thought existed. No just in me but at all. You all have an amazing gift, thank you for sharing it with the world!”
- glitch_city_gamer2846 on youtube.
Bro is spitting facts fr
| |
Falling in Reverse + Papa Roach=A match made in the deepest depths of hell.
| |
when's the radke rug pull, i'm being suckered, there's gotta be a catch
| |
A soft version of Last Resort covered by Falling in Reverse? 🤮🤮🤮
| |
Rock solid Casey Sabol core.
| |
Horrendous
| |
nah, just nah

-Horrendous-
Classy death metal band agreed.
| |
"Imagine being able to make a papa roach song worse"
lmao got em
| |

| |
This is like a rare instance of bird shit landing on top of dog shit to bake in the sun
| |
"It worked once with his vampire song and now he won’t fucking stop with the “epic piano ballads.""
@spec Did it work with the vampire song? Personally I thought it made that shit song even more shit.
| |
a big fuck you to Ronnie Radke
| |
This newest addition to the band's epic piano covers just comes off as a gimmick. It mostly sounds like an epic movie soundtrack with Ronnie not sounding like he knows what he wants to do with the vocals. One part we're attempting to sing tenderly, the next we're yelling into the mic to try and invoke some forced sense of passion. All I hear is a tone-deaf artifice.
| |
I always thought Ronnie had papa roach vibes ever since ETF first album
also yeah big fuck you to ronnie radke
| |
All the Ronnie hate is pretty funny tbh. The man managed to make himself relevant again out of nowhere.
| |
"relevant" is doing a LOT of heavy lifting there
| |
"relevant" is doing a LOT of heavy lifting there
Yeah I'd replace that with laughingstock.
| |
61M spotify streams and 37M youtube views on his last song that was released ~5 months ago is pretty impressive renaissance after basically fading into obscurity for quite a bit
| |
yeah there's a big disconnect between people who spend time on music forums and people who find their new music from, say, tik-tok or other trendy apps/means.
Noah Kahan, for example, selling out massive shows and was one of the major attractions at Boston Calling, hass over 100m listens on one of his songs on spotify. Not in the sput database and his biggest album as 300 ratings on RYM. But some of the bands on these music forums with large amount of ratings are playing at small less-than-1000-capacity clubs.
Where do you think Falling In Reverse lands with their fan-base
| |
^ I get that. Noah Kahan was great to see at Bonnaroo by the way! Was surprised to see him not added to the database, he had a massive crowd
FiR clearly longs in the latter category, but still pretty wild to see him pull off this resurgence to relevance (as you pointed out with a much different crowd though)
| |
That's awesome! He was on-point at Boston Calling too, Definitely a mostly younger audience. I am not usually a fan of trendy folk-pop music but I do bop/sing along when I hear him. Would be cool if my partner would stop listening to him non-stop tho
also just listened / watched this cover, dear lord what the fuck
| |
@some I feel very similar to you with regards to Noah. I find his brand of trendy folk-pop particularly tolerable compared to his contemporaries for some reason.
| |
Well, I haven't hated a song this much in a while
It's only one part of the shitshow, but I don't understand how anyone can think that this kind of vocal processing sounds good
| |
685k views in one day wtf
| |
“Where do you think Falling In Reverse lands with their fan-base”
they’re opening for Avenged Sevenfold, the last time I saw that band the openers were Breaking Benjamin and Bullet For My Valentine, and the time before that was Deftones and Ghost.
Falling in Reverse is popular as hell
| |
^ they get lumped with the weirdest combo of bands. I’ve seen them headline before, and while they put on a good show, there’s no way I’d go specifically to see them. Only saw them that time because a friend wanted to go and i figured “why not? 🤷”
| |
Every thing he has done since 2012 is so fucking funny
| |
So cringe it's hard to get through.
| |
It's not egregious or anything. I just kind of feel nothing. Trying to turn a Papa Roach song into some kind of high art piece is a silly premise to begin with. The vocal production is bad. The piano was pretty generic and just there. No surprise, though.
| |
yeah that sums up my thoughts pretty well
| |
Honestly all things considered this is pretty alright. I get Ronnie is hated and some of its for good reason but these kinds of reimaginings just tickle my brain and I just let it happen. Maybe it's not better than the original, but this is kinda it's own thing.
| |
of all the things we didn't need, we needed this the didn'test
| |
Losin miiii ssooiiiggggttt losin mii mooiiiinnndd
| |
That autotune is horrendous, especially around the four minute mark. Sounds like a dying robot.
| |
And I'm in tears. When music is done right, there are no words to speak, just emotions running rabid, thank you, Falling In Reverse ❤
| |
Man it's so sad when people like the guitarist from Polaris die and people like Ronnie Radke get to live
| |
Okay this was horrible lol
| |
Ronnie said he did this in one take.
Boy does it show.
| |
So much fucking autotune. I have a soft spot for epic arrangements like this so it kinda hits okay in places but damn the re-working of the "melody" is awful.
| |
The movie trailer version.
| |
dude out here battling MKG to be the king of cringe
| |
Ronnie Radke, the guy who has the potential to still be the biggest name in emo metalcore if his own ego didn't get in his way. And if he wasn't a total POS.
| |
a heavy handed producer/manager would help but this obviously wont happen
| |
this is so on brand lol. unreal
| |
"a heavy handed producer/manager would help but this obviously wont happen" or other band members actually getting some sort of a say.
The quality drop-off from his time with ETF to his releases with FIR (essentially solo with a backing band) shows this. Even the recording quality sounds like ass especially on FIR's earlier releases.
| |
that's like any metalcore artist that wanted to keep being relevant and keep reaching wider audiences tho
| |
Producers/managers being more heavy handed would have made them less relevant and capture a more narrow audience? That sounds a bit backwards.
| |
i mean the autotune isn't nearly as strong here as I've heard in other songs and is only really noticeable on the softer falsetto parts.
| |
Finally listened to this and it’s fuckin garbage like I expected
| |
between this and the fall out boy cover of We didnt star tthe fire, i decided to stop listening to music(catch me playing gt4 on an emulator)
| |
This man doesn't just create music he creates art and an experience. If his music doesn't resonate through you with his emotion and passion then you need to turn up your volume up.
| |
🧐
| |
"This man doesn't just create music he creates art and an experience."
I agree that he creates an experience... just not always a good one lmao
| |
Creates an experience something like a bad case of diarrhea
| |
I enjoy Popular Monster and Watch the World Burn, and his older stuff, but between this cover and Zombified... yeah, no
| |
YouTube reaction content. He and Tom MacDonald were meant for each other.
