12 Rods Announce New LP 2023-04-20 by robertsona EMERITUS | 15 Comments | In an Instagram post made on Thursday April 20, American Dream Records and 12 Rods announced the imminent release of a new LP by the legendary Minneapolis indie rock band, called If We Stayed Alive. Out July 7, the LP is 12 Rods’ fifth, though that doesn’t count 1996’s gay? EP, the first release ever to receive a perfect 10 score from Pitchfork. If We Stayed Alive is their first album in 21 years.
You can listen to the first single, “My Year (This Is Going to Be),” which brought me back to memories beloved and toward futures awaited, below. I had 1,600 plays of 12 Rods in 2022 alone, the year my little brother showed them to me. Bros. We’re so back.
