About as generic as it gets. And how typical of them to shoehorn a breakdown in here too lol. I've just about given up on this band.
| |
There are a few songs I like on Bad Vibrations but for all intents and purposes this band died after Common Courtesy. This seems better than the few songs I listened to on You're Welcome before giving up on that album but this is painfully generic.
| |
This sucks. These bands remind me of the Family Guy joke manatee from South Park. It's all pulled from the same bucket and spit out to all sound the same.
| |
painfully generic and still easily better than anything off YW
| |
Better than
"WELCOME TO THE EYE OF THE TIGER
GOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!"
| |
The verse sucks. Bland synth background noise. The chorus is nice tho.
| |
Yeah I thought it went without saying that this is at least better than anything off You're Welcome.
| |
hey at least it's better than the last album... kind of? At least YW had an "identity" somewhat. Also come on they could make much funnier breakdowns than that
| |
Still can't believe that album wasn't scrapped entirely
| |
Kinda generic but that chorus hits really nice. Breakdown wasn't bad though I'm getting really tired of the sudden downtuned guitars that so many bands are doing nowadays.
| |
For a pop-rock kinda song it's not horrible. I'd actually listen to this as opposed to that last dogshit album they put out which was unlistenable.
| |
Leave it to Will Putney for bringing these guys (somewhat?) back from the brink of irrelevancy.
| |
Wow every single bit of that sucked. Well done.
| |
This is like if an AI listened to 1000 hours of modern metalcore/post-hardcore and then spit out a song it generated based on the algorithm.
| |
When the verse hit I thought I was listening to a Post Malone song wtf
| |
After what "You're Welcome" was, this certainly feels like an improvement. However, my guess is either this song is going to be on the 'Deluxe' version of "You're Welcome", or it'll be a piece of a new album TBA that will be one of the better songs on the record.
| |
Straight garb. Band is dead
| |
I thought nothing could be worse than YW, and I'm glad I was right
| |
I mean, it's better than anything off of YW
for whatever that's worth
| |
that is the lowest bar to clear
| |
That's like a straight F student moving up to a straight D student
| |
I was hoping that the miracle was that they disbanded
| |
“Leave it to Will Putney for bringing these guys (somewhat?) back from the brink of irrelevancy.”
one not wholly unlistenable song does not equate to relevancy lol
| |
Aren’t these guys the ones who wrote a song about how they wouldn’t change their friends for the world after sexual assault allegations came out against them?
| |
I feel like this is the start of a new cycle. Seems like the last album's reception and the exiting of their predator bassist has them wanting to move on. This song is pretty different from that album, but similar in that it is also ass. Wow, this band has completely phoned it in and given up. Going straight metalcore in 2022 seems like such a weird direction for them, and a very boring one. There's just no personality in this song. Walmartcore
| |
It's pretty much Resentment II. I'm a sucker for a good Octanecore song here and there but after a few listens this will probably be forgotten by most, including me.
These guys perfected their formula on Common Courtesy, I hope they get back to that somewhat.
| |
At least Will's production saved this from being 100% irredeemable lmao.
| |
These guys perfected their formula on Common Courtesy, I hope they get back to that somewhat. [2]
| |
[3] they won't, but a man can dream.
| |
Sounds like it was generated by an AI specifically for Octane
| |
Jeremy looking pretty chunky in this vid.
| |
"one not wholly unlistenable song does not equate to relevancy lol"
Everyone is flocking back to them now on their social media comments tho. Every other comment reads "WHOA WELCOME BACK ADTR!!!"
| |
'This is like if an AI listened to 1000 hours of modern metalcore/post-hardcore and then spit out a song it generated based on the algorithm.'
yeah exactly
| |
Old Teenage me be damned its not worth checking this out, if this is only marginally better then that train wreck they last put out its not worth wasting the eartime
| |
5D chess to release such a dogshit album I almost think this is tolerable by comparison.
| |
this sounds like a new Wage War b side
| |
This is the same as Falling in Reverse's latest stuff, but they suck too.
How many layers of production does this need? Yikes.
| |
Never would've guessed this was Putney.
| |
Now you know
| |
I do! Have a nice day!
| |
A Day To Wage War
| |
Is it sad this is infinitely better than anything on You're Welcome?
Actually I just answered my own question.
| |
My curiosity won out
This is shit, is it an improvement over "Your Welcome"? Yeah sure just because the shit isnt on fire doesnt detract that its still shit.
| |
I quite like this actually. Yes it sounds like a generic mix of Falling in Reverse and Wage War, but I think the sections are well written and the production is massive.
| |
I like it, sue me...but then again, I also liked YW. It's a nice, poppy rock album. And it was fun! You do you ADTR...don't listen to the haters.
| |
Sounds like shit (y), exactly what I am expected. Still, diehards jerking off to them.
| |
Cannot fucking stand these guys
| |
stinking.
| |
Eh, better than everything on the last album at least. Songs just OK...
| |
Yeah, this aint it. I will long miss the days of pre-Bad Vibrations
This is better than just about anything on You're Welcome *except* "Last Chance to Dance". That song kicks ass.
| |
This is worse than a lot of YW and that wasn't even a good album. They have a lot of mediocre songs with good choruses but this is literally a bad chorus + bad everything else, the fuck are some of yall talking about. One of their most forgettable choruses ever.
| |
forgettable chorus [2]
| |
Who else got Goosebumps?!
This is everything ADTR! Melodic, hooks, screaming, riffs, insane lyrics, epic mosh pit breakdowns.
After the last album was such a let down, this is insanely refreshing. This my fiends is legendary music.
If you dudes at ADTR are reading this, this is what we want. This is everything you guys represent. Hats off to you guys on an epic comeback and cheers!
| |
is that a youtube comment?
| |
come to brazil
| |
@Mort. It's gotta be a Finn McKenty or Nik Nocturnal comment on YouTube.
| |
nah man i got goosebumps
| |
Ay if you like it then you like it. Don't let any of us tell you you're wrong.
| |
Common courtesy still slaps imo. Hammer and nail and violence are perfect poppy posth/c or whatever you want to call this band. What seperates me has some underrated tracks on it too. I think you be tails is their best track and 2nd sucks is top 5 prolly. The few songs I listened to off that last album was beyond awful. Didn't expect it to be so bad I wouldn't even be bothered to listen through it a single time.
| |
This my fiends
| |
the chorus is literally great value brand Falling in Reverse
| |

WSMFY as a whole is underrated. They caught a lot of flak for it because it was short and only showcased 3 heavy songs, but all 3 of the heavy songs are some of the best they've written and the poppier songs are also top tier. I think the weakest track on that album is Lauderdale. It's just corny. But Better Off This Way is really good imo.
| |
Band fucking sucks
| |
The fact that a band that's been releasing shitty music for the past 5-7 years is able to still generate a conversation about how poor they've become is astounding. Song is completely forgettable, not even worth slagging off imo
| |
Whenever I hear a synth in a metalcore song I just immediately lose a lot of interest cause I know it’s going to sound like every modern metalcore band under the sun
| |
“ You do you ADTR...don't listen to the haters.”
This shit makes me throw up man we need more negativity in the world for real
| |
Falling in Reverse, Wage War, A Day To Remember, Memphis May Fire, you can’t convince me these aren’t all the exact same band lmao
| |
Eh, sounds better than You're Welcome but it's cookie-cutter to a T.
| |
