New Crescent Album, Song 2021-06-04 by Fernando Alves | 4 Comments | Egyptian blackened death metallers Crescent released a new song, 'As Nu Enshrines Death', off their upcoming third album Carving the Fires of Akhet, out June 25th via Listenable Records. The record was mixed/mastered by Victor 'Santura' Bullok (Triptykon, Dark Fortress) at Woodshed studio. The artwork was done by Khaos Diktator, which is a Baroque-style recreation of one of the most influential and ancient Egyptian relics.

I really wanted to like this album more, unfortunately the songwriting/composition is very unevenly paced and fails to really pull you in. That opening riff from "The Fires of Akhet", though, is fucking fire...especially when the middle-eastern drum beat kicks in
