Idk what happened to this band, but they’ve been consistently boring for like 20 years now
| |
Sumerian.... 🤦🏻♂️
| |
Hahahqhhwhqhqhahahahshshshwhwhqqhahahzhshshsux8skdj
| |
This song rules tbh
| |
i think its pretty catchy but doesnt really sound like SP, needs more guitar at least a riff, like in the 1979 song, sort of a dance beat guitar combo
| |
Love it!
Reminds me 1998 stuff like Saturnine and Ava Adore
Lookong forward to the new album
| |
Lmao this band is on Sumerian now? Oof.
Song is shockingly okay for them. Corgan still sounds like trash but they take on synthpop alright ig *scrolls up* ah yes, needs moar rawk gang get in there
| |
I actually really dug shiny and oh so bright. Sue me
| |
how about Rise Records next
| |
Sounds like they're trying to recreate something off adore or machina 1. It's pretty meh
But why the fuck would you get Jimmy Chamberlin back in your band and them record a song with a 4 to the floor dance beat?
| |
damn... trying to do Adore stuff
awful
| |
For all that talk of how Shiny Vol.1 "wasn't a real SP record", this isn't too far removed from it musically - they're pleasant but basic and seem like they pander a bit to modern tropes. I really don't get why they're writing tons of simple 4/4 electropop stuff with no guitars when they have JIMMY CHAMBERLIN and three VERY accomplished guitarists in the band 🤦🏻♂️ we better get some SP fuzz metal workouts to balance this shit out or fans will riot
| |
Holy Depeche Mode!
| |
time for Corgan to start a new band where he isn't the singer anymore
| |
This is hysterically awful
Was genuinely laughing my ass off the entire time
| |
Very different for them but I like this.
| |
Don't get the hate, I liked it.
| |
better than anything off their last that's for sure
| |
song is actually pretty catchy
| |
what a creepy video. song is kinda cool i guess. but imma go put tonight tonight on..
| |
not into this one, the other new track is solid though
and i will never watch this music video
| |
Not what I ever expected from Smashing Pumpkins. Wtf is this video haha
| |
^ 4real lmao
| |
They've done electronic stuff amazingly in the past obviously, and this isn't 'terrible' by any means. Cautiously excited for the new album. It has to be better than Shiny, which apart from 2 or 3 songs, was just insanely boring and uninspired. It's a shame that they released Oceania, which in my opinion is some of Corgan's best work ever, and then have not come close to matching it in quality since. And Corgan's voice just keeps declining. His vocals are okay with his more recent solo albums, but on monuments and especially shiny and these two new songs they are not great. Just mixed way too high and dry. It's like he does it just to piss off his listeners
| |
^ Agreed.
| |
There's a second song on the single for those interested.
| |
It is not any better, though. Perhaps worse
| |
This "band" hasn't made a decent album since 1998's "Adore". With all due respect to people still liking them, in my opinion by the time "Machina" dropped back in the year 2000 Corgan completely lost it already. All the emotion, inspiration and expressivity had already dried up by that point and never came back.
| |
damn, terrible take right there
| |
Lmao "if everything he did after three classic albums back-to-back isn't just as great it's not worth listening" there's at least 3-4 great albums worth of material released since their heyday, gtfo

disliking this is fucking weird. seems like the only complaint is that it isn't a carbon copy of those 3 albums you really, really liked from 25 years ago
| |
the video is shite tho, esp the dude with the tambourine
| |
gives Ulver's Assassination of Julius Caesar a 4
| |
i bet u have a Beatles poster on your wall rn
| |
bands been dead for 20+ years, one ok album never changed that

| |
the colour of love was better, backing vocals really add nothing here.
