Nickelback cover Charlie Daniels

2020-08-14 by Toondude | 24 Comments
Everyone's favorite Canadian rock band Nickelback have just released the animated music video for their latest single, which is a cover of "The Devil Went Down to Georgia", a song originally written and performed by The Charlie Daniels Band.

The song currently isn't a part of any upcoming album, as it's more of a tribute to the late Charlie Daniels, who passed away on July 6th at the age of 83.

ngl the guitar solos in this are actually kinda sick

that being said I'm sick of these poorly drawn animations, looks like something a 3rd grade student would make on his notebook because he was bored during class.

"Question: This or Korn's?"

I think this one actually wins because they changed the lyrics from fiddle to guitar and featured the dueling guitars.

The music video's lame, but I quite like this cover. Charlie Daniels would be proud.

Well this is unexpected. Did Chad Kroger stepped up when he said Stone Sour is Nickelback-light? Hahaha! No way "the latest version" of Stone Sour can sound this tight.

Not sure why people are surprised that Nickelback is a competent rock band lol. As much as they might *write* shitty music, no one has ever had cause to dispute their musical abilities.

I think I prefer Korn's cover, but this was pretty slick.

Played both this and the Korn version to my mum who generally prefers Nickelback to Korn, but she preferred the Korn version of this song.

Well shit. This was great. Despite not liking Nickleback, they have always had great sounding guitars (these sound like well-mixed Dual Rectifiers to my ear). Super surprising levels of shred, too.
