I think it’s time for Machine Head to retire
| |
Well...jams are better (?)
| |
I mean... I don’t wanna begrudge Robb the freedom to speak his mind. Too bad he couldn’t preserve the old Machine Head lineup and reserve this kind of material for solo projects though.
| |
Robb looks homeless and probably doesn't shower
| |
all of y'all don't know what you're talking about, Bulletproof is awesome (save for that Coronavirus Eyes, which I'm willing to let slide).
Leach's vocals I didn't like, but at least Stop the Bleeding has a nice break down
| |
I'm too scared to look
| |
i swear these new tracks sound okay for like 40 seconds and then the verse happens and it all falls apart instantly
they still have the best guitar tone in generic modern metal so good for them i guess
| |
First song is literally just a generic Killswitch-esque riff with Machine Head parts sprinkled in. It all just sounds so phoned in.
| |
Oh, this actually pretty good. Bulletproof is sick, could easily have been off Bloodstones and Diamonds.
The thought of Robb filming that video at the train tracks is hilarious
| |
I respect them for releasing these songs tbh given their fanbase
| |
@JeetJeet Yeah, the first track is a mood killer. Or we can say, it switched the quality dynamics. It's just not engag- okay, I'll stop now...
@Wildinferno2010 Bulletproof is goooooood.
| |
It's definitely a step up from Machine Head's more recent material, not that that's saying much.
| |
Bulletproof's not bad
| |
Yeah, these are both major improvements on Catharsis. I like to pretend that album doesn't exist
| |
that album is forgettable and inoffensive, so it's not like we're trying hard to froget it.
| |
this band is gonna be like arch enemy where they have a revolving door of talented lead guitarists who then never get to write anything for their albums
| |
@Mythodea I found it pretty offensive. I'm not usually one for hyperbole, but Catharsis really was a huge pile of shit
@Madbutcher yeah, Machine Head is basically just the Robb Flynn show at this point, but imo that can be good if he puts effort into it and doesn't crawl too far up his own arse
It is a shame that that Decapitated guy's influence isn't showing more on these tracks, though. Hopefully more on future stuff
| |
This is some generic stuff right here....just bland.
| |
Stop the Bleeding straight up sucks and I bet Leach regrets the feature. It's sad to hear Machine Head continue their lame streak.
| |
Stop the Bleeding blows yeah
| |
"Stop the Bleeding straight up sucks and I bet Leach regrets the feature."
Man this weak shit is right up Leach's alley.
| |
Ye weak ass shit
| |
Bulletproof is pretty okay
| |
I get not liking Stop the Bleeding but Bulletproof is pretty solid Machine Head tbh
| |
Was gonna check these out until I saw the cover art of Bulletproof.. God damn it robb.
| |
bulletproof is sorta okay yeh, bit too underdeveloped
| |
guessing this has already aged poorly?
| |
Actually surprised at the Bulletproof love on here. Liked Stop the Bleeding quite a bit more lyrics aside.
| |
Bulletproof is good
| |
just going full trivium on that first song huh
| |
Bulletproof shows that Robb can still write good stuff, but he just can't help himself with all the metalcore shit.
| |
Disband alreadyyyyyyyy
| |
Machine Head showing once again that walking down a railway on a glaring, sunny day is the single appropriate response to structural racism.
| |
It wouldn't be so bad if Robb wasn't such a hypocrite. He comes out brow-beating Phil Anselmo after spending decades sucking up to the guy. What a tool.
| |
i mean i would turn round and roast phil anslemo too if he did whack stuff like that, if you've got values you shouldn't throw them away to defend your mates
| |
Nah Flynn's just a businessman. More a businessman than he's a musician. He just hops on whatever train there's an opportunity to be found - with mixed success.
He's a hack, but he's a reasonably talented hack. The groove metal and the NWOAHM stuff he both pulled off pretty well - I actually like more MH albums than I dislike - and his playing on Vio-lence's debut is superb
| |
not as bad as expected
| |
All the big metal bands should make a tribute album to George Floyd and his life
Like a song for che but bigger because this is about justice
| |
It does feel a waste having extreme metal stalwarts in Vogg and Alston in the band, and not even trying to let that have an influence on the song writing.
