Not encouraging. I'll reserve judgment til the album drops but these two singles are...meh
|
| |
way better than the first song imo
|
| |
This is hilariously bad lol
|
| |
this sounds like a completely different band
|
| |
serviceable but Fallujah can do better than this
|
| |
Band has never been good agreed.
|
| |
ugh
|
| |
Enjoyed it better than the first song. Probably because the first song lowered my expectations quite a bit.
|
| |
Liked the first song they released. This one is horrible imo.
|
| |
Nothing wrong with trying to be more melodic, but there isn't much going on in this song. It's pretty god damn boring.
|
| |
Kinda preferred the first song lol
|
| |
Man this just doesn't go anywhere
|
| |
ass
|

What the fuck happened to these guys? Different vocalist and guitarist but the same principle songwriter, yet they're struggling to write more than one riff per song. They've devolved back to demos in the span of three years.
|
| |
Holy fuck this is shit
|
| |
Pretty fuckin bad man
|
| |
Is this at least marginally better than the last single?
|
| |
@Dedes not really...

Absolutely. I'm stunned. How is this even close to the same band that released "Nomadic"? I genuinely hope these past two singles have been outliers because otherwise I have a hard time imagining this album is going to be well-received by anyone.

Man this just doesn't go anywhere

This is worse than The Harvest Wombs, let alone better than Nomadic.
Don't give me that BS.
|
| |
interestingly enough "fallujah" is the sound that came out as I involuntarily wretched while listening to this song
and the Yikes of the Year award goes to...
|
| |
Band has never been good agreed. [2]
|
| |
Vocalist sounds like he's coming in from a metalcore band. Harvest Wombs rules dude
|
| |
Well boys that was fast, this comes out in 4 days. Are you all as worried as I am? Stay tuned! I'm expecting a leak any day now and going in with more hesitation than I'd have hoped for.
|
| |
I kinda liked The Flesh Prevails but that's about it. This sounds boring af.

Uh oh. So it looks like a week ago reviews started popping up. At least, I found four online. Three are diplomatic in their criticism and almost excuse it as the growing pains of a new sound, but MetalWani has an uncharacteristically well-written review up that sounds about right and goes into more detail on these criticisms.
It's pretty much what we feared from the singles: While the diversity in vocals is a welcome change, the loss of Brian (and without replacement) on guitar has made this an empty-sounding record. It relies on walls of sound driven by repetitive, uninteresting riffs, and a newfound lack of melody, ambiance, and atmosphere. It is absolutely nothing like their prior work in any way and gone are the elements that made them sound special in the first place. No songs stick out or have the "wow" moments of the past, leading to a blur of samey songs that's perhaps better used as background music if you ignore the trees for the forest.
Yikes/10. I'll give it a shot but any remaining hope is dashed.
First Tesseract's Sonder, then Skyharbor's Sunshine Dust, now this. My metal heroes have been failing me as of late.
