New Oceans of Slumber Single

2018-01-27 by manosg EMERITUS | 7 Comments
Houston-based progressive metal band Oceans of Slumber, have released the title track of their upcoming album. The Banished Heart, the band’s 3rd LP, is slated for a March 2nd release date via Century Media Records and comes 2 years after 2016's, Winter.

The band comments:
“As many terrible ups and downs as we've had over the years and as hard as 2017 was for some, we have made something we are very proud of. Something we could funnel into the aural and visual, and something that is bound to crush us and you. We made a record that is a window in time. A chronicling of what life was during it and an album we could call home for a bit.”

"Don’t dance with the devil too often, sometimes he takes the lead and takes you home."

The Banished Heart track-listing:
1. The Decay of Disregard
2. Fleeting Vigilance
3. At Dawn
4. The Banished Heart
5. The Watcher
6. Etiolation
7. A Path to Broken Stars
8. Howl of the Rougarou
9. Her In the Distance
10. No Color, No Light
11. Wayfaring Stranger

Absolutely. The blast beats at some point sounded a bit forced to me but it is a really interesting track.

Saw them opening for Enslaved in 2016 and they were terrific. Looking forward to the rest of the album

Winter kind of lacked focus and strong songwriting IMO, but this album steps up their game considerably. Everything is better. Highly recommended.

Really dug this, but the middle ballad part felt soooo long.
