well, it's definitely Breaking Benjamin. Good track.
|
| |
I used to love this band a while back but ever since they dropped their 3rd album, they've written the same handful of songs over-and-over again.
Honestly, I feel like you could put this on any of their last few albums, or any b-sides collection, and it'd fit in perfectly. Was hoping that with including all of the band in the writing process, this'd be at least a little different.
|
| |
Digging it.
|
| |
Digging it.
|
| |
I like it, but it really does sounds like a "heavier Breaking Benjamin" and I don't think it's entirely a good thing.
|
| |
this is awkward
|
| |
Digging it. [3]
Track brings me back to Saturate. Hope the whole album is heavy like this.
|
| |
It really does sound like an inebetween of their new sound and Saturate/We Are Not Alone sound. Digging hard.
|
| |
"this is awkward"
That's really the best way to describe it. It doesn't sound entirely like BB-by-numbers, but it doesn't not sound like that either. I don't know. A lot of the vocal harmonies were nice though.
|
| |
These guys have been a guilty pleasure for me for ages. Pretty weak lead single though imo.
|
| |
Breaking Benjamin does Breaking Benjamin as Breaking Benjamin does Breaking Benjamin but this time Breaking Benjamin is a heavier version of Breaking Benjamin combining old Breaking Benjamin roots with newer Breaking Benjamin roots making a worthy Breaking Benjamin single
|
| |
I liked it. BB is one of those bands that has really found a signature sound and made it work for 15+ years. I always know what I'm getting with a BB project and thats not a bad thing, for me at least.
|
| |
I never like their new stuff when it's released, but I always find myself a few months down the line getting into it. This was okay on first listen, I dug how heavy but not really it was. Ben screams and all, but musically it's not really heavier than normal. Either way, certainly not bad and I think I'll probably dig this more as time goes on.
|
| |
Holy shit this album is gonna rule hard as fuck.
|
| |
Dear Agony part 3
I'm in tbh
|
| |
Phobia, Dear Agony, Dark Before Dawn are basically all the same album, and Embers sounds like it's going down that same path but with a little influence from their older days.
This is truly the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" band.
|
| |
"This is truly the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" band."
Any radio band.
Even though i love these guys to death
|
| |
Well, this surely is a Breaking Benjamin single!
|
| |
Sounds a bit the same, but at the same time it's definitely a bit different. This is a lead single though, the label will have wanted them to release the most true to their sound song first, that way there isn't an immediate backlash of "I liked their older sound", so I think this opens a door and theres more out there stuff behind the door... possibly. Either way I dig it
|
| |
Thank you to whomever described this as "awkward" because now I know how to describe new A Perfect Circle
|
| |
Better than last album, still dont know where they gonna go with sounds. Digging it. [4]
|
| |
Wow this new APC single sounds great
|
| |
Why does this sound so distorted? It would probably sound solid if it didn't sound they were playing through a walkie-talkie.
|
| |
The artwork is horrendous
|
| |
New APC was fucking bad, This, however, is everything it was ever going to be. I am whelmed.
|
| |
"The artwork is horrendous"
I sure hope its just single artwork.
|
| |
Sounds like BB to me.
No issue with them getting heavier, it's not like they'll go death metal, though I think Burnley could probably handle that.
|
| |
Pleasantly surprised I must say
|
| |
Beardog, judasgoat, and Toondude (more or less) are right -- this is awkward [3]. It trades BB's trademark penchant for melody for plodding, aggressive atmosphere, but ends up deserving neither and losing both. It's growing on me a bit, but for a band that's got a rep for being a singles band, it's easily the most disappointing single they've released imo.
|
| |
"Got some "bury me alive" vibes in that chorus"
thankyou, I knew I was hearing similarities to another track but couldn't put my finger on which
also yeh this is just the single artwork, BB have never really had a cringeworthy album cover, they're all pretty sweet if not bland
|
| |
I liked it, I'm suire sputnik will say it's terrible while they go off and jerk off to a kendrick lamar song or something
|
| |
Can Benjamin write a song without the words "hate," "dark," "cold," or "life?" I think not.
I still like Saturate and a few BB songs here and there, but this one sounds like a recycled version of everything they've done since We Are Not Alone.
Why does this sound so distorted? It would probably sound solid if it didn't sound they were playing through a walkie-talkie. [2]
>This is truly the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" band.
On the contrary, this is the sign of a band that doesn't have a creative idea left.
|
| |
Absolutely love the "Red Cold River" part of the song. As a whole, it's one of their better songs. However, there's 2 things that bother me about it: 1. While Ben's singing and growling are both good, this song reminds me that Ben has a super limited vocal range 2. The majority of the lyrics are way too literal for me to get into.
|
| |
saw the artwork and immediately thought stranger things
|
| |
Breaking L
|
| |
This is good. Saturate and Phobia were the best albums, this could be a good return to form.
I was, however, hoping for something a little more out there. The tempo and mushy power chords still sound like BB
|
| |
RAWRRRR RAWRRRR RAWRRRR
it's pretty good I guess.
|
| |
12 year old me would have loved this
|
| |
It's definitely not ROAR though it sure as hell sounds like it lol
|
| |
Surprisingly solid. Didn't blow me away (ha) but i could listen to an album of this
|
| |
Huh. I think I like it now. Catchy.
|
| |
Well, this is growing on me a bit more too.
|
| |
"Run, red cold river" I guess
|
| |
haha i liked this
|
| |
Breaking Benjamin is always going to have that same sound. They always tweak their stuff slightly but you basically know what you're going to get. As far as radio Hard Rock though, they are still one of the greats and are a guilty pleasure of mine
|
| |
Also the lyric is 'Roar, Red Cold River' not run.
|
| |
Again, it's definitely not ROAR lol, and BB themselves said it's RUN
|
| |
a good band heavy songs on this cd for it nice
|
| |
All this breaking still hasn't killed poor old Benjamin.
|
| |
Man they still know how to crank those catchy songs. I dig
|
| |
The more I listen to this thing the more it sounds like a B-side to Dark Before Dawn, and given how the songs from that album sounded like B-sides to everything else they've done, what does that say about this?
Not looking good for the new album. Hopefully I'm wrong.
|
| |
So the pre-order starts on January 26th, I'm curious to see the artwork because I hate that cheesy stare on the single's one
|
| |
easiest 3/5 ever.
|
| |
^^ This band is such a 2.5-3/5 for me. I don't hate them, but I'm also really not going to go out of my way to listen to them.
This new single isn't shabby though.
|
| |
Band still kicks ass.
|
| |
Ok but unremarkable. Too overproduced and clean for me. I guess the band just isn't for me.
|
| |
It does get catchier with other listens but if the rest is all like then it's going to be a disappointment
|
| |
BB is as BB does, none of their stuff is below a 3 for me. Def gonna check
|
| |
Stoked to see them live! This song rocks.
|
| |
if the album artwork doesn't scream early 2000s nu-metal I don't know what will.
|
| |
Oh no, they broke the pattern.
Was it really that hard to make a blue cover goddamnit1
|
| |
well they already have two blue covers
|
| |
Yeah, that's what I meant with the pattern. They used to change between blue and yellow(-ish)
|
| |
Phobia was green tho
|
| |
What no it was purple
|
| |
Seeing more green than purple tbh, it's k tho we all perceive colors differently
|
| |
this sounds exactly like everything they've ever done
in other words good, but I have no reason to pursue anything new from them
|
| |
Yikes, that cover art is disgusting
|
| |
I thought the new Kamelot artwork was trash but this is even worse damn. At least they kept their usual style with the font and text placement. In a sense these colours are a breath of fresh of air though, I guess I'll find a way to like it if I'll dig the music
|
| |
there's very little green and absolutely no purple in the phobia art wtf, it's more of an ugly brown
|
| |
Yup not purple at all, and yeah the new art is meh
|
| |
I'm very sure that both me and Toondude know very well that there is neither green nor purple on the Phobia cover xD
|
| |
It's obviously white and gold.
There's a new song out called Feed the Wolf btw
|
| |
new song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTuNRW8Zens
I like it more than this one, but again there isn't anything that different than what they've done previously.
Also the new album is going to be their shortest album to date...kinda disappointed.
|
| |
“Feed the Wolf“
There’s a radio rock song title if I ever heard one.
|
| |
Don't really dig the new song, that generic ass riffing that opens the song is just sad by this point.
So basically (if the singles are of any indication) it's going to be Dear Agony but with far less emotion and even softer despite the three guitarists thing. Also, shorter than 42 minutes if it's going to be their shortest. Worst BB incoming prob
|
| |
"Worst BB incoming prob"
Yep. Can't stand neither of the songs.
|
| |
Prob will be better than Dark
|
| |
