When I saw Metallica at Wembley on Sunday (Amazing show btw, Metallica still have 'it') with HIM, Mastadon and Machine Head HIM might as well have been non-existant. They were just a backing track for people taking a piss and getting beer.

The album Venus Doom is said to be a new HIM, moving away from their previous sound although not leaving it completly.
Translation: The wrote longer songs.
I don't mind the band musically, but the lyrics are pretty lame to say the least. And dear god, do I hate their fans.

Jesus Christ why would this band make a song 5:14 the shortest on their album? Steerpike's translation sounds quite accurate after listening to this nonsense. This band gets so boring so fast but its the vocals that tend to ruin it completely. I just despite Ville's low tone.

I actually posted that before listening to the track because it's usually right. When rock and metal bands start talking about how they're being more experimental on the new album, it usually just means they're writing longer songs and/or started messing around with keyboards in the studio. Very few bands actually have a decent progressive streak in them.

I like this band... a lot, but when I heard that their shortest song would be five minutes I got worried. On their album love metal the final track was 7 minutes and after a while it was mostly repition... and I am assuming that to make these songs that long that will occur again.

On the upshot, the chance that they'll breed is rather negligible.
I'm still confused as to what makes him a sex symbol, though. The guy really needs a sandwich and a tan. Hell, doing a single push-up would do him some good.
