Our Last Night cover Linkin Park

2017-02-28 by DatsNotDaMetulz | 23 Comments
Our Last Night, who have gained something of a reputation for their cover versions of popular tracks from down the years, have now turned their attention towards Linkin Park's new single "Heavy" - a track which gained considerable criticism for its commercial pop-heavy sound. Joining OLN for this cover are members of Living In Fiction.

Our List Night's latest album of original material, Younger Dreams, was released in 2015.

I usually love covers by these guys (especially their covers of Skyfall by Adele and Hotel California by the Eagles), but this was a really weak cover. This just felt thrown together and lazy.

So the cover felt very similar to the original then?

Gonna assume so. Move on people, nothing to see here.

Agree, one of their weaker covers. Besides the guitars being a little heavier, it sounds the same as the original.

Usually this band's covers are as good, if not better than the original.
In this case, the original was better.

Cover was indeed nothing special, heard a lot better from these guys. They just wanna jump on the hype train for ´heavy´ versions of the new LP track so LP fanboys can say that this is how LP should be. If LP released this track like OLN made it, it would still suck.

Love these guys but this cover is pretty average.

Just another average our last night cover, if these guys would focus their time and energy on making better original songs they wouldn't have to make so many of these covers to stay relevant.

"so they turned it from a pop song to a screamo pop song."

Calling this screamo is an insult to Orchid and Circle Takes The Square

I hate that Our Last Night has just become the signature metalcore band that covers pop songs.

Like for fucks sake, write your own material and prop your band up with that or gtfo. This is getting old. We Will All Evolve will forever be in the heart of my inner 15 year old, however.

The covers get them a shitload of attention so it's hard to hold it against them. But yes, this one should have been skipped.
