Fuck yes!!!!!!!
The description sounds very interesting, and I love the artwork.
| |
fffffuuuuuck yeah
| |
Oh fuck yes!
| |
Very excited to hear this. Shelter was enjoyable but I prefer their more black metal sound of Écailles De Lune.
| |
Artwork looks like it could be for a Baroness album, or some other stoner/doom/sludge band. Interested in what this will sound like considering those influences are pretty different as far as Alcest goes.

English Song Titles:
1. Kodama
2. Outbreak
3. I Am Moreover
4. Untouched
5. Birds of Prey
6. Onyx
Ran this through Google, might be rough or direct translations. I know 3., Je Suis D'ailleurs, is a short story by Lovecraft originally titled The Outsider, but I don't speak French, so...sorry?
| |
I don't give a fuck about this news
#InsightfulInputs
| |
grimes
why
| |
If this isn't super kawaii I'm gonna be disappointed.
| |
Cool, this is a band I have to check out
| |
Their influences for this new one sounds interesting. Hopefully it wont be as boring as Shelter
| |
fuk ye
| |
Their influences for this new one sounds interesting.[2]
I have high hopes.
| |
the informations nearly sound too awesome to be real, I have to let it sink in for a while.
| |
Fuck this is gonna rule.
| |
oh yeah that's the stuff
| |
Ecailles and Voyages are their best, so if this follows that style even a little then it'll be amazing.
| |
"paying tribute to Hayao Miyazaki's film "Princess Mononoke"
never jammed this band but i'll be checking this out release
| |
Voyages is the "worst" but I still dig it hard.
| |
The debut and Voyages are tied for my second favorite, they switch places for me depending on my mood. Shelter is their weakest but still excellent.
| |
I've yet to be truly let down by any of their records.
| |
"Je Suis D'ailleurs" = "I am from elsewhere" (I'm french)
Excited for this. Artwork is cool.
| |
Eh the artwork is alright. Definitely well done. I think the girl on the cover makes it seem a bit tacky/corny. That's just not my style I guess. Makes me think of some cheesy Japanese anime.
| |
japanese album... lol
sounds pretty neat tho
| |
konami
| |
This better not be some weeb shit
| |
it's actually gonna be nightcore
| |
this had better be good
| |
Daaaaamn this sounds so sick. I don't know about the Japanese theme but the musical influences sound awesome.
| |
'"Je Suis D'ailleurs" = "I am from elsewhere" (I'm french)'
Thanks! I knew it was probably something else.
| |
i think this will probably be a 3.0 but i hope not u.u
| |
wow at least wait for the first snippets
| |
lol
| |
Teh mehtul is comin back to Alcest m/
Hopefully...
| |
Princess mononoke metal m//
| |
Should be enjoyable
| |
I loved Shelter, in fact I have just picked up a vinyl copy of it a week ago. Can't wait to see him for the first time in December, sadly he doesn't come around often to Budapest. I'll have to watch Mononoke first though to truly shoegaze to this album.
| |
Shelter fucking slays yeah it doesn't get enough credit.
| |
Summary gives me such a boner.
| |
They're so good live don't miss them if you can help it. I wish they were coming close to me again.
| |
Agreed. Shelter is my second favorite after Écailles de Lune
| |
Agreed, description is arousing.
| |
damn, excited for this
| |
With Ecailles as a base it should be good but with those influences it's up in the air how it's gonna sound. Alternative progressive post-gothic blackened dream grunge?
| |
"...and is billed as the band’s “Japanese album”, gleaning inspiration from and paying tribute to Hayao Miyazaki's film "Princess Mononoke" and the illustrations of Takato Yamamoto."
Hype.
| |

Jealous of your vinyl. Mononoke is dope. I hope this album is an incarnation of the demon boar.
| |
Im all in. Loved their last record.
| |
makes me want to watch Princess Mononoke more than anything lol
| |
Im almost certain this is gonna fail, mostly in part to how eclectic its supposed influences are. Mixing that much stuff will only result in a mess imo. However, im still oddly intrigued...
| |
"Loved their last record."
Their last record sounded like an advertisement for erectile dysfunction medication cmon
| |
Shelter has its place. They tried doing something a little different, more lighter sounding while still retaining their dreamlike atmosphere and they pulled it off well. Glad to hear this won't be Shelter pt II.
| |
Shelter is my least favorite Alcest lp, but it's still excellent. it's just that kind of thing that works only once and gets boring the second time. that's why this is such good news.
| |
I loved Shelter and it's my second favorite album that they've done, but yeah, it wouldn't make sense to do another album just like it.
| |
I want this!!!!!!!
| |
To be fair guys, some of these influences might not be stylistic. Steven Wilson credits Cardiacs as an ideological/spiritual influence on how he wants to make music, even if they're not the same style.
| |
But Wilson smokes dick tho
| |
french and their love for japan huh
| |
Strange, I thought they were all racist as fuck
| |
no that's americans
| |
Nah, Europe is known for being pretty racist too. Britain, France, Germany, etc
| |
well every country is racist to a certain degree (a too high degree in every case at that).
| |
Good point
| |
One of my favourite bands
| |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwE5FG-pIdk new track
| |
it's AMAZING btw
| |
Dude, this rules! You just made my day. Can't wait to hear the whole album.
| |
The black metal vocals are back and sound better than ever.
| |
alcest are fucking back
| |
Listened to it 3 times and had to stop so I don't ruin it.
| |
great track, probably one of my favorite ever from alcest tbh
| |
fuckkkyeeeeah
| |
France has had a growing appreciation for Japan in recent years. Japan LOVES France.
| |
new song is outstanding
| |
Agreed.
