Touche Amore premiere new song

2016-07-18 by MattTD | 16 Comments
California post-hardcore band Touche Amore have premiered the second song from their upcoming LP Stage Four.

"Displacement" is the second single from the album, following "Palm Dreams" which was released last month. Talking about the track, vocalist Jeremy Bolm said:
“The word ‘Displacement’ in Greek is Metastasis, which is the term used when cancer has spread from one organ to another. Having 'dis' in the title felt like a good head nod to Discharge, Disfear, Disclose, etc. as this song has a strong D-beat presence... most of my lyrics are autobiographical, but this one feels more like stating facts than word play. It touches on my faith or lack thereof in the afterlife. How for her sake I want to believe in heaven because it’s what she deserves.”

Stage Four, the group's fourth studio album, is set to be released on September 16th via Epitaph Records. This is the band's first record on the label, having previously worked with Deathwish Inc and No Sleep Records.

It sounds like they're pouring a lot of love, thought, and feeling into this record and that just makes me more excited to hear the full album.

These lyrics man...
I don't care if they tread along the same wavelength as before musically, as long as the rest of the record reads as strong as this shit I'm stoked.

Well, that was fantastic. It's similar to their other stuff, but it's lyrically brilliant. Definitely a strong AOTY contender if this is any indication.

Not as great as Palm Dreams but the lyrics are solid. Excited for the full release.

Idk this is probably just as good as Palm Dreams tbh, some really pretty melodies here with exceptionally good lyrics.

Always wanted something more from this band that sounded like the opening guitar riff on To Beat a Dead Horse, and they seem to be focusing on more of a melodic guitar approach which I completely dig.

I recently lost my grandma who raised me like my mother to some seriously nasty cancer that metastasized from her lungs to her spine and the whole ordeal was drawn out for way too long. So everything about this album and song are hitting me right in the feels.

Haven't cared much for TA for a few years now, but this album is shaping up to change that.

Now if only La Dispute would get their shit together and quit being third rate mewithoutyou clones id have my freshman post hardcore favorites back.
