It's okay

This makes me very excited about the full album. It's still Gojira but there's some experimentation in there on their usual core sound. Very nice when the clean vocals came in on around 3 minutes and very unexpected! Also Joe still sounds as awesome as ever on his usual harsh pitched vocals.

Eh, it tries to be catchy but it doesn't really succeed at it imho, maybe I was too hyped. Drumming is as cool as always though.. Hope it grows a bit. Clean vocals bit on the final bridge is somewhat weak and probably too studio-tweaked for my tastes, I'm not a huge fan of it. Last twenty seconds though are cool

Okay everyone on thePRP loved it, so I was wondering what was wrong with me.

But it does feel underwhelming. Funny someone said Korn-ish because there was a part of the song that when the 2nd guitar kicked in I thought about Korn and asked myself why couldn't they do something like this?

But for Gojira standards it came up a bit short IMO. Got to keep listening though.

Stupid nu-metal guitar riffs, extremely underwhelming verse/chorus structure. Pretty god fucking awful.

a little disappointing to be honest. I'm down for it to be catchy; this just didn't work too well. Its not bad. Its just kinda lol.

Repeated the chorus and the opening riff too much. Too simple to warrant such repetition. Have full grasp of the rhythm/melody the first time I hear it. Needs a lot more atmosphere to make it work effectively in my opinion.

the video doesn't help the song at all. if i just heard the song maybe it wouldn't feel so hilarious, but that 90s trapped in a room atmosphere is just so tacky

Let's be honest, Gojira have always struggled to make convincing music videos.

Not getting the Nu-metal vibes at all, if anything the chuggy groove is very Pantera reminiscent.

Album will rule and song rules, the band stated they were trying something different which, for a lot of people, is a welcome idea.

Gotta agree on the guitars not kicking as much as they should. I thought the vocals were ok though. It's a decent song.

The mix does feel kinda empty but that's to be expected, normally everyone is used to the pummelling thickness of the bands guitars.

It's a more accessible Gojira, but that does not necessarily mean a worse Gojira.

Actually, after that opening riff the song really gets going. And even that opening riff isn't a big deal because...well...have you even HEARD Gojira?

Great song. Pumped for the album.

To me Gojira have always written just-a-little-oversimplistic riffs (with several truly awesome exceptions though) but it worked on albums like From Mars to Sirius or The Way of All Flesh when the songs were long and had a somewhat random structure, but starting on that latter album and carrying on L'Enfant Sauvage, they simplified their song structures removing any progressive element from them which made the overepeated simplistic riffs shine in all their dullness. Now they remove the heaviness and we arrive at a song like Stranded with two "nothing-special" riffs and some chugging repeated non-stop.
I would be lying if I said it's bad. It's ok. But all the things that I liked about the band are disappearing one by one and are not replaced by anything better.
I'm sure it'll work better on the full album though.

I'm with Kevin. That snippet from before sounded really original, and not just for them. This sounds like they're too afraid to go in a new direction but dont want to keep doing what theyve been doing. Hopefully this is an exception for the album and the rest sounds fresh. Was really looking forward to a new sound form these guys. In my opinion one of the few good metal bands out right now

This will be a fine change of pace if it follows some huge Art of Dying / Into the Wilderness slab of classic Gojira.

Also, if they are trying new things like they say, this is probably the designated catchy single and the other tracks will most likely be more interesting. Only one way to find out however.

That main riff would have been cooler without the annoying effect on the guitars. Clean vocals were actually a highlight for me and I'd say that was the strongest part of the whole song

It definitely makes a lot of sense that they used this song based on the descriptions I've read in an article 2-3 weeks ago. This is probably the closest song to a combination of their oldest stuff and their newest stuff. That's my assumption til I hear more.

I'll always miss their Sirius and WOAF days but atleast this song is more fun than most of the songs on Infant Sausage. Good stuff.

Good song! But I agree, the soft sung part could've been better.

The vocals are much less harsher than before, which I don't mind.

But the drumming and the guitar riffs have been simplified a lot... not impressed.
